Chinese Devs is actually a major concern. It is already known that China planted a sleeper virus in the software of various power plants across the US, to be activated by a trigger code at the point of an invasion. We know that the Chinese government uses various tracking software embedded in things to steal information, they use this on their own people regularly.

We also know that China does not have free market capitalism. Any company from China has to work with the CCP, and have a CCP representative in their company. This means that the CCP has final say over what is included and not, and this does include potential spyware or other harmful software possibly designed to harm western citizens.

Keep in mind also that the Chinese actively hate and despise anyone who is not mainland Han Chinese themselves. China is the most xenophobic country on earth, and is actively an enemy of the west and the free world. They would see us all dead in mass graves if they got the chance.

When you download any software from China, game or not, you are putting your computer, your banking info, and identity at risk. Taiwan is fine, they are an ally of the West and a friend to democratic nations. But products from mainland China are inherently suspect.

Be very cautious about this. I would highly recommend not buying games from CCP-related developers.

Taiwan barely has gaming industry nowadays, and the only few games made by Taiwan's studios are absolutely dogsh*t joke compare to Mainland China. Moreover, the most popular games in Taiwan are actually made by mainland China(and Japanese). Nowadays vast majority of good quality popular Chinese games in global market are all made by Mainland China, even the Chinese indie games and mobile games are also mostly made by mainland China.

Wukong, genshin, marvel rival, wuwav, naraka, sword and fairy 7,...,too many. All made by mainland China. Wukong along not only sold more than 21 million copies worldwide with very positive players' feedback but also won a bunch of foreign awards, taiwan and hong kong NEVER have such achievements, and probably never will.

With that said, Wukong plays heavily into Chinese Culture/Myth, the same exact Myth that inspired the late Akira Toriyama to create his world famous franhcise Dragon Ball.

You could legitimately argue that 50%+ of Wukong's sales are directly from Mainland China, which says more about China's potential in-terms of revenue generation vs Westerners & other Eastern Nations realizing that Chinese games are 'better'.

Nine Sols blows anything made by mainland china, ever, out of the water. Wukong is the most overrated piece of gaming media ever created. It's a decent game hyped by ccp suckers, you can check where the overwhelming majority of positive reviews are coming from. And that director's meltdown after game awards was pretty pathetic, lol.
