10/26/2023 - I'm tired of negativeness so I'm stopping to read any reviews (for some time).

Dropping all support officially and ignoring criticisms they perceive as generally negative (as this -can be- very broad and left to the individual), and blaming consumers for not purchasing it ASAP and making it right to the top of bestsellers?

Why still sell it, then?

Just seems counterproductive, and kinda discouraging for product - the game literally just came out, and while there are a few negative nancys, it seems like a weak excuse to circumvent accountability and personally responsibility for long-term support to the project, and genuinely add anything meaningful other than "you can now fight billiard npc".

If I were to compare this to the events of the game, it'd literally be akin to Seiji giving up right from release from the cell and stepping into the world.

I was interested in the title just for what it is, nothing more. But it appears the dev thinks it's not good enough because people have critiques? And that makes me rationalize, as a consumer, that this product therefore is not good enough if even the dev does not think so, and will not support it or peer any form of review for it.

Just wanted to post this so there are more voices than the baked-in community from the dev's previous titles, and to help any outsiders wondering about this title where the dev's perspective on their own work currently is in the short amount of time since it's release.

This is what happens with these creators that are more conceptual talent artists than disciplined game devs. Interesting concepts, pretty art, but no steel to the product, and hurt feelings abound.

This is an extremely misleading and moronic post. I can’t tell if this is a troll or you’re genuinely this dense. When he said he “could’ve added more” you posted it without context and with ignorance to ignoring the countless updates that have been launched since release(some of which were direct requests from the community itself). Yeo has been working on the game for around 3 years trying to polish it and there’s some people flooding the forums almost demanding he change the entire structure of the game which goes against the design completely while there’s so many others who think they’re entitled to how it should be made. Ofc he’s gonna get burned out when he’s reading that, mixed with moronic reviews, while still updating and bug fixing daily. He’s one person. Its not so much abandoning the game but he said he felt like after this next last update the game is complete to him so he can move onto another project. If you’ve actually played the game a typical run is on the shorter side but the replay-ability from launch is extremely diverse and can offer hours upon hours of unique experiences which doesn’t even count the many updates that came afterwards. Next time before you make a post like this attempt to do some research…

This is what I am referring to as "baked-in community" - no outside thoughts may enter if not fully on-board. A clown award within 2 minutes of posting discussion, and hyperbolic greetings of hubris via "extremely misleading and moronic".

I definitely appreciate your efforts to counter-discuss what is on offer here. I will not argue the semantics in context of "I could have added more" outside of the one critique I see, which is people that have offered critique want a version of freeroam to enjoy the title more.

I agree with the dev and community that is not the point of the title, and understand why that would not be an addition to the product. I appreciate and respect that to a wonderful degree, in fact, and would personally not like it if the product were altered as such.

However, looking at the updates, it is clear what has been added.

On the second topic of being one person - that is also understandable, and a valiant effort. Many singular people sit at the helms of projects, almost definitely including indie game titles. This is not a reason to post as such, and potentially drop support.

I do not understand how that correlates to, "I'm tired of negativeness so I'm stopping to read any reviews (for some time).", and would actually offer that being a one-person show is a detriment here, and not a valid excuse, as no one was around to walk them through their feelz and potentially help them to a better perspective prior to posting this publicly as such.

I have done my research. At the very least, I knew enough to be aware of the communication on 10/18 outside of the community hub here on Steam, and to continue to monitor to see the follow-up post on 10/26.

This title has been on my radar since I first learned of it's inception, and the product truly speaks to me as I, too, am entering a very different season of my Life and I ask what matters.

But if the dev is blaming lack of interest on players, and stating they will not even see any form of review, I am not left with much else to think of this product, as a consumer.
