THANK YOU SO MUCH. But Please Promise Wayward Realms Won't Become Shroud Of The Avatar 2.0....
JULIAN LE FAY?!?? THE FOUNDING FATHER OF TES LORE?? THE TES PROGENITOR OF WHOM AEDRIC GOD JULIANOS WAS NAMED???

YES PLEASE!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU JULIAN. ESPECIALLY FOR NOT ABANDONING THE FANTASY RP UNIVERSE.

THANK YOU FOR GIVING US HOPE AGAIN IN THE ABILITY OF A LEAD WRITER'S ABILITY TO GENUINELY CREATE. TO WRITE TRULY CREATIVE, EPIC SCOPE LORE, WORLD BUILD, AND SCALE AN IMMERSIVELY CONNECTED UNIVERSE. WHICH HAS NOT EXISTED SINCE THE CREATION OF THE ELDER SCROLLS UNIVERSE & LORE.

Thank you SO MUCH for restoring my hope and faith in this TES like fantasy RP. Given the direction Bethesda is its declining quality of making TES games. And especially where they're headed in an increasginly greedy monetization of TES. Leeching off the PC modding community's creative pool as an unwanted middleman. Peddling grossly overpriced, low quality, and increasingly superficial paid mods in CC to date.

The direction Bethesda is taking TES is now alienating the very fan base demographic which produced the mods. Which kept TES alive for over 20 years since Daggerfall.

I've sadly reached the point where I have to admit that I've lost all hope for TES VI. All I ask of you and TWR dev team, is that you NEVER forget your roots the way Howard/Bethesda sadly have.

And that you NEVER allow hubris to cloud your judgement. Because sadly, Bethesda's unprecedented GOTY streak with TES (up to Skyrim) has made their dev team 100% complacent and tone deaf to fan base concerns.

And this is why they're now at the soul searching point they've reached today with Starfield. And yet STILL remain utterly tone deaf based on Emilio P and other dev's responses to upset fan boi feedback on social media. To the point where the Devs are LITERALLY BLAMING THEIR FAN BASE for franchise shortcomings to date. This does NOT bode well for the increasingly worried/anxious TES fan base for TES6 (and FO5) in future.

Please stay true to your roots. Develop the best old school RPG we know you were created by divine Aetherius to do. And please consider making Wayward Realms MODDABLE. So that the fan base can best engage and build rapport with you as a new developer.
So you can sit back and enjoy the success of all your hard work. For the TES fan base will truly follow.

Brother, your enthusiasm is bolstering my own. We are one of mind when it comes to our hopes for TES VI - I wish Bethesda the best of luck, but I cannot be enthusiastic about a franchise that has fallen victim to the fate of most publicly-traded companies (that being shareholders first, players last), as well as their unique penchant for having the modding community actually fix their games after release.

I am excited to see this new IP sprout, bud, and bloom coming from two OG's who are just as big of fans of RPG's as the rest of us. Everything about this game so far reads as genuine passion from the devs, and I'm here for it.
Yes. Sadly have to agree with you :( Also sadly admit that the Bethesda dev team peaked at Skyrim (a significantly less with FO4). Then simply devolved after that.

Winning GOTY after GOTY breeds hubris. Hubris always comes before a fall. And with hubris creeps in complacency. Complacency KILLS. And the sad reality is that Howard, that jester of a lead writer Emilio P., and the overall TES Dev team (majority who have been around since Morrowind days) simply DO NOT realize they're falling in a death spiral. That their tone deaf, entitled, toxic attitudes is what is KILLING the innovation that made TES and FO4 global household franchises.

The fact the dev team has been rudely dismissive of SF fan base concerns on social media to date. Sadly becoming the paradigm of detached reality.

The fact that Emilio P. -- a AAA Professional and SF LEAD WRITER of a new AAA title --- continues FAILING TO UNDERSTAND the concept or rationale for design documents to date?? Yet accuses the fan base for being "the problem". Because he's too thin skinned to accept genuinely constructive criticism from the fan base WHO ARE HIS CUSTOMERS AND SO PAY HIS SALARY.

The fact Howard has now lost all apparent credibility with the TES/FO4 fan base. Proven by the 95%+ perma loss of Steam SF players to date. Which remains unaffected even after the new DLC came out. The fact Howard is tone deaf to fan base and consequences of his lying by omission. That he failed to explicitly reveal the fact no true flight model exists in a solar system. Once a player exits the load screen after take off. The fact that the 45 min SF Direct video lied by omission by implying this sort of flight mechanic.

Knowing how that would turn NMS, ED and even SC nerd fan bois delirious with the hype of the implied ability to fly between planets & astral bodies in a solar system. When the truth was SF was going to be a 100% mind numbing load screen simulator. So the biggest selling point was the game's Exploration mechanic, which had been completely over sold. Since Howard KNEW the reality of this mechanic was really an endless button/keyboard load screen clickfest. Loading one endless Sky box after the other. Hell you didn't even need a ship to travel to the most remote part of the game map. You could 100% revisit that remote point ON FOOT with one FT button/keyboard mouse click. LMAO. So WTH did SF even need ships to begin with?

Rumor Mill says they're planning on using the currently upgraded CE 2 game engine for TES 6. Divines help us.

RIP TES.

I've heard the notion that Todd doesn't make games anymore, but just merely sells them. That's his schtick anymore, and the development leadership is no longer about passion for games, but how much they can squeeze out of us, the customers. We're no longer considered players outside of the quite literal fact that we just activate inputs, and we never know what we're talking about when it comes to what we want in games.

Software development is about solving problems, and problems in AAA games of late have been less about fun mechanics from creative programmers and more about solving the arbitrary "how make $$$ go up" problem. I just wanna have fun, man.

We truly appreciate the kind words but we don't want these threads to turn into a Bethesda hate party. We want to talk about The Wayward Realms, our game design, our lore, anything related to our game, not other studios and their choices.
As such, we are going to go ahead and lock this thread. Feel free to start new threads with regards to WR as we are more than happy to answer questions or receive feedback.
