capacity seems weird to dump your points into, over other things. best to worst choice is generally damage-utility-reload-spread-capacity,
I usually upgrade guns like this:
Handgun: accuracy, damage, mag capacity.
Shotgun: reload speed, damage, barrel choke.
Lever action: improved lever.
China Lake: blast radius, shrapnel damage, mag capacity, slamfire .
FG42: scope, mag capacity, damage.
Usually I upgrade the pistol first with the stock (2 parts), then damages (4 parts) and if I feel like I'm rusty, I go for more ammo capacity (2 parts).
For the lever action rifle, damages first because it melts some of the tougher enemies. Then I go for either a better fire rate (2 parts) or ammo capacity (2 parts) if I want to go a bit more berzerk.
Then the good old shotgun, I always start by reducing the spread (4 parts) then get damages (4 parts) as soon as I can, also with the faster reload (2 parts). This weapon is broken in close combat it's ridiculously fun.
I use the Sten mostly as a weapon for mowing down groups of enemies, so I go accuracy (2 parts) then capacity (2parts).
Grenade launcher? Can't go wrong with the slam fire (1 part) and capacity (2 parts).
The very first upgrade you shall get for the FG-42 is the scope (1 part), helps a lot, then the damages (4 parts), then capacity. But if you want, go full auto (2 parts), it's a bit ridiculous how quickly it melts enemies.
I can't remember how many there's weapon parts in total, I shall make a no upgrade run just to see.
I ended up with 41 weapon parts, probably missed some. Thanks.
