That's entirely up to you, it's called roleplaying.
Depending on the sitch, it can both help or hinder you.
From the reply of dev, you only got some word indication on what level you reached, there no visual or stat or how many % your pride level is. That ruin my run to be honest, I not spamming the pride all the times, but the game level up mechanic tie to getting to fight. So if you want level up, you have to fight in every chance.
I mostly pick proud option that lead to fight, and I got cucked by it.
To that end, prioritize the first three main quests so you get the other two Dimensions' salutors.
I reached level 2 late in Act 2, after completing all the sidequests and choosing pride options something like 75% of the time. Basically, if a character that responds negatively to pride was around, I'd skip, otherwise, always pick a prideful option when available.
Level 1 (start): "My innate Flaw. It got me into trouble on more than one occasion out also kept me out of it sometimes too. It is an integral part of me."
Level 2: "My Flaw is growing stronger. I can feel it. The more I fuel it, the more powerful it will become. It can open some doors for me but close others."
Level 3+: ??? (Unsure of text. Unsure whether level 4 or higher exists)
