Should you increase pride flaw?
Hello, newish to the game and really liking it. I'm planning on restarting because when the game said that some side missions were timed, I just assume progressing through the main story. So I'm starting over. I heard through some discussions that picking on the prideful option may lead to a bad ending. While I'm not going to look up good answers for the best ending I still rather lean toward the "good" ending if I can help it.

Depends.

Pride answers can lock you out of information, and from methods of resolving quests. It's a double-edged sword basically.

Generally speaking it'll also damage your relationships with certain NPCs, Ligia for example seems to react more positive if you're less prideful.

Also, near the endgame, Pride will straight up make decisions for you. I...kinda love that aspect. Like, yea, it's an actual flaw and it gets the better of you. Very satisfying

Wild that this FLAW has negative effects, right?

It's exactly what it says on the tin, a flaw. It's a negative quality and you will not benefit from it.

For example, in Warsaw there is a quest in Act 2 which takes place at the cemetery. During your investigation if you choose prideful answers while talking to the leader of a certain organization you won't be able to free him from his flaw and take it for yourself.

When? I completed the game and don't remember anything happening at a graveyard.

I didn't go crazy on pride answers to the point where it took away my choices but I did use quite a few of them.

There are some flat out awesome pride based answers.
At one point a character flat out questions your ability and power as a Thaumaturge and the pride answer just has you manifest all of your Salutors. It's a straight flex and it was awesome.

It also felt like at times, the Pride answer just fit really well Like when telling Ariel to go **** himself after taking the Golem Also had some really great replies to
Rasputin after choosing to side with the Coterie

I did avoid using them with Ligia, Wanda, Samira, and Abaurycy. Pretty much anyone I wanted to like me.

My bad, Act 1 actually. It's after the Prologue.

"They Are Alive"

You get it from a child waiting in front of Wiktor's home, who sends you to the cemetery to talk to the gravedigger about corpses being dug up from their graves at night.

I'm at the beginning of the game and I was presented with a Pride dialog option,
except for influencing the ending of the game, what are the benefits of choosing "pride" dialogs?
I've found this aspect of the game very confusing. My initial inclination was to suppress my pridefulness and not choose Pride answers, but it's not clear that in the world of thaumaturges being prideful is a bad thing, so when I started to have dialog options blocked because my Pride was too low, I panicked and thought I'd better start being more prideful. So now I have a character who is at medium pride who I would rather have at low pride, and I feel a bit cheated about it. I don't think the virtue/vice system is explained well enough.
