I have no patience for woke garbage either, so we'll see how it turns out. But for now there's no real proof of wokeness
But how often do you see the buzzword used in that way? And can someone make the reasonable claim of ignorance of the modern usage of the word? I'd say it's near impossible that they aren't aware of the use of this buzzword, and they made a conscious decision to use it in the two-sentence game description as a selling point.
One final thought, and I could be way off base with this one:
"Cultural diversity" is typically used to describe the overt meshing of [potentially] clashing cultures. The melting pot. A heterogenous mix of European cultures hardly fits that bill.
It's literally just telling you that you can expect a supporting cast of people diverse in all aspects coming from various walks of life, instead of a more homogenised crowd. That's it. That's literally all they are saying.
If you have a problem due to your own prejudices and hate of other ethnicity that's your problem, not really anyone or anything else. Go twist your narratives somewhere else please.
The reason we included that in the game description is because Warsaw 1905 is actually a very uncommon setting and a huge chunk of the audience might not know much about the city at that time. Warsaw at the beginning of the 20th century was vibrant with people of different nationalities, religions, ethnicities, various cultures and speaking different languages. This fact about the city might be surprising to some but we believe that it also makes it very interesting. Throughout the game you’ll meet characters from different cultures, such as Polish, Russian, Jewish, etc. Their nationality won’t be the core of their personalities or characters but it won’t be completely insignificant as well.
The cultural variety is not the core of the game but you can’t accurately depict Warsaw 1905 without mentioning how vastly diverse the place was.
And also:
That's not how the word is used in this context. You can check the entire game description and find:
"The year is 1905. Warsaw lives under the yoke of imperial Russian tsardom. Its inhabitants constitute a diverse group of different ancestries, views, and beliefs with often conflicting interests: Russian soldiers, Jewish merchants, Polish townspeople, and more. Despite the circumstances, the city is a buzzing metropolis, where one can attend a breathtaking party with the high society, and later get robbed in one of the dark alleys of the Praga district. A city of great hopes and dreams on one hand and dark desires on the other."
Warsaw at that time was full of people representing all sorts of different nationalities, ethnicities, religious and cultural backgrounds. It's not a fantasy or "woke propaganda", it's a historical fact. It's true and at the same time adds great vibrance and enriches the lore of the game so we just wanted to point that out.
If you're going to waste people's time, at least compensate them accordingly.
If cultural diversity is truly a red flag to you, you might be actually a racist lol
