Worth it with an old oculus rift?
Bought an oculus rift many years ago, hardly uses it and wondering if you guys consider this game worth it on a first gen rift, or you need something a bit more fancy to get the real experience?

My pc specs is good though so no problem there.

Looks great, works very well.
The game is very nice and very enjoyable.

Mine shuts down after a minute or two each time, but it looks like it's the fault of the fact that I'm sitting on windos 81.

edit:
Cv1 if you are not sure

I have the first Vive from the same year, it's definitly worth it!
My GTX 1070 wouldn't satisfy a higher resolution headset, but I can get a sharp image if I use a quite high render resolution, and turn on motion smoothing :)
I play with 0.8 render resolution if I want 90 fps for racing

I have the CV1 and RiftS. It's worth it.

You mean a worse picture on the rift s?

You have the ability to put on rift 1 (cv1) and rift s directly after each other ?
I tried quest 2 but not on the same computer, and not one by one, but an hour break. The image on q2 seemed to me significantly worse than the image on cv1.

My cv1 are already very worn, and it's strange but I think I'll buy another one the same, in better condition, the price is the same as the rift s, and slightly lower than the q2. For index I need to replace the entire computer, so I do not want to do it.

@ddc196: what do you think about it.

I just remember when i tried it long time ago that cv1 was way more immersive than rift s even though cv1 has alot more screen door, the colours on rift s are washed out and it breaks the immersion, havent tried the q2.

Thank you.

I also noticed a much worse immersion on quest 2 but I was convinced that it was the lack of built-in headphones cutting off from the external sound.

Its the lcd, it has washed out colours, thats why cv1 is better than both rift s and q2 cause its oled and has great vibrant colours.

The Rift CV1 is still awesome - you do not get the TAA blur with the CV1. The DLSS creates a blurry image, so Rift CV1 may not at all be a bad idea.

I use Index and CV1 - have not tried the game yet with the CV1. Also my Index is always connected - the game only works with my CV1 if devs support native Oculus drivers.

Native Oculus drivers would be nice - more than 60% of of SteamVR users have an Oculus hmd. Performance using Oculus hmds is much worse using SteamVR drivers than native Oculus drivers.

i bet the cv1 looks better than the index which is ironic, lcd really sucks.

The game looks great with the CV1, and to my surprise the game supports native Oculus drivers.
I just tested the game using my beloved old CV1, but Index does with bigtime due to fov, res and no SDE. Some night levels may look best with oled though.

In the beta version, they have already switched to open xr (posted on the forum).
(this version that they withdrew in one day).

I just bought this game and will go for it on my cv1. I am sure it works perfectly. I am using my cv1 in olmost all vr gaming and more and still have my satisfactory long term. It is still in perfect condition with touch controllers. Happy to notice that many users use this with cv1 olso! 👍

Agreed, maybe you'll find this thread interesting:

Index is better than my CV1 due to fov, more res and more subpixels, but I still had the most awesome time testing Kayak VR with CV1 ss 2.0. Some colors did look better (more saturated) with oled.

This is why I'm still using my Odyssey Plus. It's only 2880X1600 but those AMOLEDs are great with almost no SDE.
