I'd extend it to a kind of auto-switch-list. Just tell me what odd single cars are hiding there in the outback, waiting to be moved to the interchange ;)
At the moment I dont mind too bad going to the depot windows to find out who has what going where and when etc. It would be nicer to have it a page or tab inside the overall company situation in the upperright pane. Its not a mandatory game task but rather a information screen in real time or near real time what the game has on hand around the entire system.
Until then its a matter of visiting depots up and down the entire line and jotting down notes of desirable industry work.
+1 for your suggestion.
A central overview of the cars/waybills currently on the companies tracks would really be helpful.
1. One option would be an added UI ledger (where you can quickly check if any cars are overdue and where they are at.)
2. My prefered solution would be a "central dispatch board" on the wall of the CTC room upstairs in Bryson station, where all the cars are shown as "waybill markers" on the locations list on the wall. (using the colour coding system like the ones shown above the cars whem hitting TAB, but sized down like the markers on the CTC board.)
That way the railroads company HQ at Bryson station would get even more meaning.
-> "Basically Magnet markers on a big white board",
And the "Dispatcher in chief" also known as the CEO would have a good overview of things even in first person mode.
PS
This would also be nice for team-meetings in MP where everyone gets to see whats going on, before taking on the tasks of the day.
PPS
I´m at the point of the game, where I have so much going on from Sylva to Andrews that I really worry about missing the odd sitngle compulsory car sitting on a small siding gathering dust...
ROTF!!! Is that like "Bless Your Heart!" in the gulf states?
At this point, this request seems like it should be essential feature to the game.
