When storage is filled the consumption is almost zero what slows down unloading.
Level up contracts and consumption will raise.
Its the same with pulpwood at Sylva. You have to fill the storage up to 450 tons equaling 9 cars, on tier 3 consumption is 5 cars / day.
I would expect that the "game" requests more outbound cars since they have plenty of logs, and thought that was what the update intended.
The documentation is a little week when looking at tiers, I don't notice anything about what you are committing to, and definitely don't want to over commit.
I'm playing solo and only running Tier 2.
Whittier Saw Mill:
R1: Fits 12 Logs
T1: 8/day
T2: 11/day
T3: 15/day
T4: 21/day
T5: 30/day
As you go up you will be required to drop more and they will unload the cars you place there faster. At Tier 3-5 you must pull logs from more then one place or you'll run it out of logs.
See below:
Whittier Saw Mill:
R1: Fits 12 Logs
T1: 8/day
T2: 11/day
T3: 15/day
T4: 21/day
T5: 30/day
So at Tier 1, once you have fulfilled the needs of the Sawmill (8 loads), any additional loads are placed in storage. You should still see cars unloaded relatively quickly here (2-3 per hour or so). However, once the storage is full, cars will begin unloading only as storage space frees up (at the rate of consumption).
Hope this helps.
If you go to the locations menu (a tab of the company screen) you can fiind (and teleport to) all tracks by clicking on the little squares. Hovering over the name of the track indicates the part of the track(s) that is/are used for (un)loading. Zooming out gives you the surroundings and going to the map further info. You can make a non scaled diagram (with pen and paper is still the best way IMO) and add other info like the length of the tracks (in cars) and the number of cars that can be (un)loaded at the same time. On discord you can find also information. But I recommand to make the diagrams yourself. It helps to understand and memorize the map.
PS L1 is near the siding on your way to L2 and L3 is at the end of the line (not leaving the maintrack at L2.
I am glad the devs have taken so much into account, if we can only get them to write down some of it.
I still have my RTFM coffee mug from back in the day. I have some scares from higher ups because I was true to the motto. :) I miss good documentation.
