It is something we are aware of and plan to look into at least.
Im sitting in Bryson heading to Hemmingway Depot and Ive got a hundred or so who wish to go to Slvya in the other direction on several of the cars. And a number staying in the depot building and not boarding the cars inspite of everyone of them being marked as going to all of the available depots.
I am running a commuter model stopping at every depot in each direction end to end. Now I am second guessing that choice.
I think its time for me to crack the time table open and get that started. If it will help organize the people into directions we are going maybe it will improve the situation.
This is how I play in the main branch, no timetables or mods.
The game requires one pax train a day. Thats the minimum. As long enough stations are met that day it gives you a good rating. everything else is automatic at the depots I dont choose where the people wish to go. They will get there eventually is how i do it.
A few dozen will end up riding the whole line on one train or another then back up the whole line again to get to the specific station they wish to go.
Its not working very well. Catering to the passengers demands for specific stations so they are being left behind. If I took 1 pax to a next depot on the line then I am happy, the other 60 can darn well wait for their train.
Wherever you start your train from, just check the stations it will stop at in the direction it is going. If you start on one end of the line, check all stations, load up anyone who is waiting, and set off down the line. As you (or the AI) make stops, each station you stop at is unchecked from the list, so your train doesnt even allow people to board, who are trying to go in the opposite direction of the train. Unless after each stop, you are going in and rechecking all stations again.
Even if you just have one pax train, thats how we all started, but just work from one end of the line to the other, and then back again.
I usually end up with a full train going one direction, so having people taking up seats that are trying to go the OPPOSITE direction, would seriously tick me off!!!
Uncheck all the stations that are in your rearview mirror, so that you are not boarding people trying to go behind you, its that easy!!! Unless your game is broken, I dont understand what is going on, because thats not how my game works!!
Main branch, no mods.
Good Luck!
Such as:
- Locomotive fuel levels and maintenance level with cost to repair
- Each railcars maintenance level and cost to repair
- Axle information for each rail car to help prevent hotbox
- Freight car information 1) destination 2) revenue to be earned
- Passenger car information 1) destination of passengers 2) Revenue to be earned
- Sell price of each locomotive and rail car I own that makes up the train
I'm sure there is more that could be added to the list. This is data the game is already keeping track of, it would just be nice to see it per train, in a summary screen rather than having to individually click on every locomotive/rail car.
If this game is about running a railroad company, this is information as a CEO I'd want to see at a glance so I can better manage my railroad.
