Verify Integrity on Steam will check the games files, tell you how many files were corrupted and then it will replace those files the next time you start the game.
Or you may choose to uninstall and then reinstall using Steam. But be aware if you don't have Steam's Cloud storage turned on or your saved games are dependent on modded content not included in the original game resources, then you will losse those saved sessions. If you choose to re-install instructions on how to keep "Saves" is included below.
The reason for verifying files or re-installing is that any mod alters or replaces certain files. Some of these modded files will not run without their parent program to initiate them. So just removing folders for example, "Strange Cutstom" will not resolve the problem. Other mods are independent of a controlling program, however they have altered the original file and the only way to resolve that issue is replacing the modded file with the original one.
Now as far as saves that have no modd's used in them, all is not lost, If you have the cloud back up on Steam then once reinstalled the game will pickup at the point of your last save or session. On the Steam Library page where you start the game, right next to the "play" button is where the cloud status is displayed.
If you are not using the cloud to store "Saves" then the verifying files routine should not effect those saved files.
However, before you re-install may I suggest that you go to your PC's main directory and locate the following folder as shown in this example:
C:\Users\Idiot60\AppData\LocalLow\Giraffe Lab LLC\Railroader\Saves
For your PC the following format requires you to put your drive and username into it.
(your hard drive)\Users\ (your username)\AppData\LocalLow\Giraffe Lab LLC\Railroader\Saves
This is the folder where you last saves and sessions are stored. Make a copy of the "Saves" folder, move it to another folder so it is not accidentaly erased. Then re-install Railroader, take that saved file back to same location and replace the current folder with the one you have saved.
Using File Explorer, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Railroader\Mods. Delete the mod.
