nope not for AI automation the AI dont care at all about that normaly you can actived the ,,switch list" when you are in a crew that allows you to add cars to the ,,switch list" to make things a bit more easy and you can put locos and cars to that crew too whats good for management too later

It seems like the Switch List and de Crews are mainly usefull for managing MP games.

But if you want you can use them also in SP. The Switch List to help you keeping track of what you need to do. You can also use the crews for naming trains and/or drivers.

You can add wagons to your Switch list at the stations, from your train, or via the 'car-info'. It's handy if you have a lot of cars to handle.

I create crews like "Whittier Local" and "Carolina Flyer" to help keep track of the trains.

I make a crew for each loco/task and assign the name to the lead loco. The names show in the Roster menu and aid in your identifying the loco/consist. For example, Pulp trains have a crew name of "Pulp 1" "Pulp 2" etc. Passenger train is "Pass," (MU units getn the crew named "MU"). As you advance through the game and acquire more and more locos and cars being able to find them quickly in the Roster list is a big help.

Does anyone know what sorting the switch list by descending actually does? I can't actually tell what its sorting by

It sorts by destination yard.
