I use Railloader to install several track mods, works perfectly.

Works like a charm. I'm running a heavily modded game because of it.

How do I get it to work? I'm obviously not doing something right.

What is your issue exactly?
The actual Railloader install is straightforward: download, extract somewhere (game's folder is recommended) and then simply run it.
Once this installation is done, you can drag&drop the downloaded mod zip files into this executable (or unpack the mods manually into the Mods folder)

Just a bit of warning about these mods. Some tend to terribly alter other mods that you may download. Even if the title of the mod lists an area, Sylva for example, the mod may effect a simple mod for a crossover track in Whittier!. After loading a mod, don't be afraid to check on other mods you may have loaded prior, to see if they are different or unusable. I speak from personal experience. :steamhappy:

i'm not sure what executable is. anything i drag and dropped into the railloader has not worked for me. i have not seen anything with a .exe. i have railloader in the game folder. infact i can open railloader while playing the game but i can't do anything with it and it does not show any mods that i driopped into railoaders folder

Here is a YouTube video on how to do it. Hope it helps.
