Cosmetic feature suggestion: Blue flag protection
On a real railroad and at real shops, there's a vital piece of safety gear called a blue flag.

This often takes the form of a blue sheet attached to a pole, sometimes a blue lantern at night. It's clearly labeled with bold white lettering too, something like "SAFETY FIRST".

And when the flag is attached to a car or locomotive, it means "DO NOT MOVE THIS CAR, CUT OF CARS, CONSIST, LOCOMOTIVE OR CABOOSE WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION FROM THE CAR SHOPS." Doing so without permission WILL get you fired, immediately and on the spot.

Which is why I added the "COSMETIC" label. It's your game - why would it kick you out?

It'd be no more functional than the marker lamps on some of the locomotives and cars in this game.

I would like to see a blue flag/signal.
In the Netherlands until now (?) blue signals (flags) are also used to indicate a stopping poiint for a train. (Passing a blue flag isn't like passing a 'red' but you disturbe to pax/freight handlling is you stop behind it.).
(In many countries there are simular signals to indicate where a specific train has to stop (without 'getting a penalty if you stop beyond the flag/signal).

I like this idea, maybe if the wagons on the repair tracks were automatically put up when the crews started "working" on them OR you had to place them before the crews would work on cars or cuts of cars.
