Yeah, better logging cars has to be on my "gotta get these" list.

I think you could argue they could make the logs a more realistic size they are huge! But carry more? "Logs" seem to be used as a unit of measurement tonnage might me more appropriate. But I fell as they are they are already absurd in how valuable they are.

You may be lacking cars its pretty easy to serve the sawmill once you have enough. I keep cars at L1/2/3. 1 and 3 stack together and get swapped out with L3 cars when empty. Each set rotates twice a day.
Easy money for the effort. Pulpwood by comparison seems to take way more effort and investment and makes less money.

Add more cars. I dedicated an engine just to logging. Unloading track is always full, Side track is always full. I keep empties up in Connelly loading. I keep the small switcher in the yard to move the cars from siding to the mill and also service the cars to load completed items on SO1/SO2.

Logging cars capable of holding more logs would most likely be holding smaller logs. In the end you would still end up delivering the equivalent of "3 logs" each time.

If cars loaded more logs then they would just increase the volume of cars required by the sawmill for each level.

More likely decrease number of log cars overall amount of log cars required by the Whittier sawmill for each level and For example instead of 8 log cars per day the sawmill would need 6 log cars if the log cars can load to 5 logs per log car being amount of logs carry by new log cars and instead of 3 logs per log car.

With the main upgrade for log cars being tall stakes about 4 to 5 feet tall in use with 5 logs per log car instead of these small bits of metal in the three logs per log car type in the game.

They wouldn't reduce the number of full car rakes (i.e. the number of cars that can be loaded by each siding) required at all. So, if your cars of the same length load 5 instead of 3 then the sawmill will require a 66.66% increase in the number of logs.

Also logs were carry in gondolas and flat cars and would be neat that we get contracts from sawmills off the railroad for the logs from the logging branch lines Walker and Connelly Creek branch lines and also get logs for Whittier Sawmill from off the railroad as well.

Same thing with pulpwood for Sylva Paperboard, Parson's Tannery and Snowbird Paper Co paper mill and sending pulpwood off railroad too, and in the case with pulpwood whatever freight car we got to send pulpwood in from Pulpwood cars to Boxcars and I have seen both photos and film footage of boxcars and stock cars being loaded and unloaded with pulpwood.

If you care to look at your contract with Whittier Sawmill, you are paid for the number of log cars delivered (full), not by the number of logs. So it does not matter how many logs are on a car you will still only get paid by the number of cars.

Yes, obviously that game mechanic would need to be changed if we had different types of cars with different capacities.

I'm also going to state another obvious thing: The number of logs that fit on one car depends on how big the logs are. The in-game models go with cartoonishly large logs, any pictures you find of cars with dozens of logs on them are carrying *far* smaller logs than those we got in game. With the massive trunks we see in game, three per car doesn't seem too unreasonable.

Bring up your company information and go to the locations page. When you highlight the various locations listed you will see your performance and tier level if you have a contract with the business. You can also raise the tier level if you have gained enough standing or cancel the contract. However you cannot see any requirements if you do not have a contract with the business.
