2023.2.2 slow burning fuse/time delayed crashing experienced

No issues at all prior to 2.2 update.

All was very smooth loading and no sound issues when jumping from place to another. Since 2.2 update problems seem to have begun and progressively gotten worse the more hours played. A little hiccup now began turning into a more serious cough. Slow scenery loading and the sound going loud/getting stuck for a split second during the scenery loading.

Just now, I had been playing this session for about an hour, went to jump to another location and the scenery locked up midway during the load, sound got stuck, and game hard crashed. First time ever experienced.

Restarted the game but the same thing occurred...this time only about a minute in. Restarted internet and Steam. Restarted game and crashed on opening scenery. Now the game won't load when "play" is selected.

I will totally shut down and reboot everything and verify files on Steam. I'm no geek and have no clue how to find/extract/send game files but it sounds a lot like what DragonHalo99 experienced below.

Im very sorry about that. Working with so many people on the discord, and far less on steam, I had forgotten that we don't have a post here with that info. I will fix that!

In mean time, put this in your file browser address bar and it should take you to the right place: %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Giraffe Lab LLC\Railroader\

That should take you into the main railroader folder for logs and saves.

I want to contribute. Same issue. It about locks up my computer for half a minute, kills my internet, then unity-hardcrash.

It has happened multiple times on me now (about 40 hours of gameplay). It seems to always happen most when jumping to Elam from just about anyplace else. Once it does does this the first time, it's pointless trying to load any prior game saves as they all lock within seconds. The only way to clear it is to reboot the computer completely and start a new game from scratch. It also generates a Windows fault of some sort as it crashes Windows. The only way out is to run task manager. Again, until latest update, I had zero problems.

Hope this helps pinpoint the problem.

One thing to try, which might sound silly, is when the game is running to reset your graphics driver with Win + Ctrl + Shift + B.

Also try playing at low or very low with the 60fps limiter on.

Im gonna bump this post myself as Ive noticed that my game crashes consistantly at around the 3 hour play mark for me. Ill share my logs aswell. might have a few to share since I think this is a consistant crash. there is a "tell" for when its about to crash and thats when teleporting around to my different trains I see it starting to stutter more and more. Ill try and remember the graphics restart and see if that helps or prevents it from happening. other then the crashing Ive not experianced any other ill effects. save stays ok. windows lives. though the crash likes to take Discord with it aswell as disrupts internet streams.
