Maybe! Something to consider.
Unfortunately, the AI at the moment is nothing more than a "cruise control" for speed, and doesn't do anything about route switching, yard organization, any driving actually, order fulfillment/train orders, yard driving and management, train refueling and maintenance, etc. Other than the much appreciated passenger station stops, there really isn't any AI, so I cannot realistically enjoy the CTC.
I do enjoy running the trains, but hopefully someday the game will ACTUALLY have competent enough train AI to let single players enjoy CTC operations.
This was my desire as well. Previews made it seem like it was possible. Hopefully one day it will be. I would assume it would require in game training for employee or hiring conductors/engineers to make it possible for them to perform this. Would like to be able to just sit and man the CTC.
I guess, I should ask what do you think the role/responsibilities of the CTC operator is if the AI is capable of doing everything you decide? I ask this because I think what you think a CTC operator does and what they really do are two very different things.
I do not see myself using the table at all but its cool that its there for those who want to.
