+1 for the 0-6-0 switcher, its economically priced and good for multiple roles, has some decent power too. I did the same thing, sold the ten-wheeler and got the S-23, never looked back
Depends, if under 10.000$ the P-18 is a nice locomotive which in reality pushed a lot of logs around (Little River 110).
If a bit above 10.000$ the G-25 is the best choice.
And if you want a new locomotive for passenger service the T-21 is a good choice.
so.. i kept the mogul.. sold the ten wheeler and the 60 pax car.
bought the 80 pax car and put it on the mogul.
bought the a26. the tender cap is nice.
almost broke now but it should work out alright. didnt use any financing.
The S-23 is excellent for what it's name suggests, moving wagons around in the yards, but compared to the G-25 it's range is limited by it's small-ish tender capacity. The G-25 is a solid mid-tier workhorse though with reasonable power and very good fuel capacity, I still have 2 of them even though I am at the stage of being able to afford the biggest engines...
i havent seen a place to refill with diesel yet. also the price on thing is pretty high. lol.
