Coal unload

Newbie here! Working slowly through the tutorial and got the coal wagon behind the coal loader as tasked. Un-coupled and moved back. Do I have to do anything else? I opened the unload hatch but nothing happened with the coal. It stayed in the wagon.

No, you don't need to do anything, as long as the coal hopper is roughly centered above the coal loader's pit.

The coal loader only holds 2t of coal at any time. You'll only see the coal drain from the hopper once you put a locomotive under the loader and start filling up the tender.

Don't forget to resend it to the interchange on time. If needed you can sent it to reload even with some coal left.

You can also get a second hopper, if you have the cash, so you can always have a full hopper on standby.
