explanation or meaning
i do not understand and was hoping someone can explain what Factor of Adhesion and Tractive Effort suppose to mean. what or how does that relate to car being pulled/pushed?

thank you

Tractive effort is how many load a locomotive can pull. Adhesion is how well the loco stays atached to the tracks. If adhesion is low, it will slip soon, especially if it is wet or at grades. Higher values are beter, but you need ot consider the tight curves. As a third loco I bought the G25-Mogul, w

thanks for the explanation. i was wondering also, if you have 3 locomotives pushing/pulling; how does the power and braking work? do they work simultaneously? [higher total tractive effort] ? i was thinking of adding atlantic locomotive to the starter mogul

Yes, if you set them up correctly.

(I think you need to check the "MU" checkbox on the leading loco, and the "MU" and "Cutout" checkboxes on all other locos in the train, but I'm still doing it via trial and error.)

sorry to ask so many questions. i do not know anything about train mechanics. what is MU and what does it suppose to do? same question for CUTOUT ?

thank you

I believe MU is for "Multiple Unit", i.e. two or more locomotives working together. "Cutout" just means that the controls (especially the brake controls) on a locomotive are disabled. You need to do that when running multiple engines because the brakes are entirely controlled from the leading engine. You don't want the leading engine to try and apply the brakes by releasing air from the brake pipe, and meanwhile the second engine tries to release the brakes by pumping up the brake pipe (or vice versa).
