Raildriver and Track I.R.
It would be wonderful if the Raildriver and Track I.R. worked with this game. Would you look into implementing these additions when you have time? Thank you.

Totally agree on both of these peripherals, especially the Raildriver. It's one of the most expensive paperweights I have every purchased to sit around and do nothing. Sadly IMO it is very expensive for the end user, therefore not really out there so Devs can for the most part ignore it or the few requests. So sad :>(

We would like to do these things, but as Calibrate mentioned, the cost of entry for most users is very high.

DorniNerd, glad to hear from a Dev! I think one of the most frustrating things about the Raildriver is the fact that there is not windows controller device available in the settings for viewing the raw data of the output. IDK if it's just a proprietary thing from the OEM or because they use a capacitor circuit versus potentiometers for sliders. Personally I think they would potentially sell more if they offered more flexibility for the end users with map-able output. IMO that level of flexability would be useful in other games as well. I mean if I can program my LoupeDeck and StreamDeck for almost any game that is killer. Heck I have a profile for my LoupeDeck for all of the engine controls assigned on the rotary dials for your game, but just not the dame tactile feeling. I guess still better than a keyboard. However, I still find myself migrating back to your onscreen quick sliders with the mouse. Not sure why other than quickness with those controls along with looking around, etc. For those times when I forget to throw a switch in a turnout and patience becomes a valuable commodity. Grrr LOL

I think the idea of the RailDriver OEM's thought of let the software developers deal with the compatibility kinda sucks. As long as the program is not vaporware, I'm pretty sure you guys have better things to develop.

Anyway thanks for a great early access game. I can't wait to see more development you guys publish for us. Tons of fun!

With all due respect and while I'm no coder or programmer and I have a very limited idea of how these programs are written, for whatever device, while I do agree that the rail driver is not cheap, in the grand scheme of things and what we all will buy for our gaming devices as well as computers, please do not underestimate the many Train Sim enthusiast and many are actual train engineers or have been and those of us that enjoy it very much but never were in the railroad line of work.

I do have the Raildriver and several games that support natively, and did a bit of searching on the loupedeck it sure looks like a nice piece of hardware, the least expensive is half that of the Raildriver and it gets even more costly, and yes they could have much more the Raildriver more programable and easier for those of us that are not developers.
I have been surprised at what many who have not been paid to create, build, and sell devices like this and yet have programmed written code, and developed the many ways to make use of software/program that makes the Raildriver work.

I can understand where Devs are on this and thinking of the people that buying into the early access and playing Railroader, I do admire the consideration they have, the Track IR is nice and it would be great, but it too is costly, and for an early access game, maybe done the road one day. My honest take on this is to Let the people choose, when you can and have the time, to put it in the game as an option and I can understand there is a lot of work that needs to be done on Railroader.

The one other item that I had already created a post on is the mouse Right Click and Hold to turn around or move the camera around and received a reply from DorniNerd, and I was happy with that. And it has become a little difficult for me, I do not expect nor want special treatment, I simply say this because much of the Raildriver is very helpful to me, and I'm sure there may be others who may also have difficulty. My hope is that in time this could change, or an option to change it like the custom key bindings that was in the last update.

I apologize for the long-winded post. Or if I missed a few words here and there, I'm a one-handed Left-handed typer.

Here is a screenshot of one post from another train sim site, if you would like me to post the direct link to it, but chose not to because is a direct competitor to Railroader.

Update

OMG! Finally got my Raildriver running and what a game changer. The Mod Settings button in the settings now makes sense as well. The only thing I am seeing that is an issue is I cannot get the AI mode to work for multiple trains while attempting to drive another train. Any folks who have this running have a solution for this?

Not sure on the Track IR yet

Support to assign devices/controllers to the key binds would be awesome. A lot of people, myself included, have flight sim gear, racing gear, and other peripherals that would work for throttle and other inputs.

Honestly support for as many peripherals as possible is a good thing, especially track IR, lots of simmers have it or some variation of it.
