If you are connected to a train, you might want to check the hand brakes of the cars. If set you wont move. Look at your HUD and note the small dots and if any are purple, a hand brake is set and needs to be released.

Ty, yea did all that, when i adjust the brake to throttle, it just jumps back to brake no idea or if i try to go from forward to reverse it just jumps back to forward, wonder if its a bug?

Check (Ctrl + LClick ) on the cars if they hold air . if do you need to "bleed" the air out .
Down left corner of your screen is a visual indicator for each car you have coppeld showing cars status in diffrent colours

Sometime it can take long time for the air pump on the engine to catch up then you have many cars coppeld

I've been playing around with AI conductors today and there is something I found that does this. Sometimes I would have the ctrl-click window up for the train I thought I was trying to control, but the actual train in the HUD was my other train. If the train in the HUD is the one being driven by AI, then attempts to control it through the HUD will reset like you describe.

It sounds like you have your loco in road mode instead of manual mode

Disconnect your loco from everything. Put it in Manual. Make sure you do not have "Cut Out (CU)" checked in the box. Make sure you do not have local brakes set on the loco or tender. Check you're not near Fusee or Switches set against you. try to move away from the loads by half or 1 car lengths.

Make sure the brake air 'taps' are closed both ends of your loco/tender.

What colours can you see on the Select icons?

I got the car and tender moving by reverting back 30 minutes in tutorial save.
but it slowly rolls to a stop after going through the first switch.
I did not touch anything. brake line 90 cylinder 0 hand brake released (on both cars)
cannot get it moving again I have two beige dots in the HUD train brake 90 throttle 100 fwd 100 independent 0
any clues why it wont move in the tutorial
