Clues not scanning in "Who Killed Casey Carmel?"

I'm having an issue in the scenes where the game zooms in to scan clues. The first time I tried scanning the corpse at the start, the injury on her skull wouldn't count as scanned even though the nearby cop talked about it. Her foot and the fingerprints did scan, butI had to re-load the checkpoint and start that again to have all three scan.

Then later in the quest, when I went into the backroom of the gas station and scanned the mattress, I had the same issue, the hammer and sunglasses scanned, but the blood wouldn't. All three did scan after reloading the checkpoint.

I solved it by resetting the checkpoint.
