I've got the error too and it seems like it may be related to us both having an old version of DirectX 12 Agility: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/directx/directx12agility/

I don't know how to fix this on my end so I can't help unfortunately m8

Confirming I just fixed this by installing 2021-12 Cumulative Update and 2021-09 Update...I think WPD.app prevented the installation

Thank you, i have a fairly custom setup of windows 10 here due to me forcefully killing automatic updates, so i will attempt to install these specific updates tomorrow.

Can you give me the complete name for the specific updates?

You're welcome, happy to help m8...I've got the same thing...a highly customized baseline environment due to legacy apps and games and I try not to change environment variables until sufficiently compelled. The exact updates that resolved my issue are associated with KB5008212 which I found on the M$ Update Catalog at https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB5008212, and KB4023057 but that one might not have anything to do with fixing the issue here and I couldn't find it in the catalog even though it came through using the standard Windows Update function

P.S. I've had this same error with the The Last of Us remake and fixed that Dx12 error as well by Windows Update pushing those 2 updates through...quite a productive evening I'd say since I'd not bothered looking into fixing it for the past couple months until RoboCop now since to be honest I wasn't actually excited to play TLoU yet in hopes of more patches from Iron Galaxy

Does it work,OP???

It did, my windows was so outdated that normal updates didint work, i had to download install copy from microsoft and "reinstall" it to the latest version.

But i can attest those exact KBs that @neowillendit mentioned are the ones needed it

That fix hasn't worked for me, got no idea where to go. If anyone got any ideas can they throw them here and kinda talk to me like I'm 5 lol.

Thanks!

Did you run windows 10 update? I ended up not using the KB archive, just normal win updates

I had the "DirectX 12 Is not supported in your system" error at launch. The game wouldn even start.

I was on Win 10 1903 version, which was oudated. The latest DX12 shenanigans were seemly added to the 2004 version. Thats a 2021 patch from May, altho since then there has been a few revisions so the exact date doesnt matter.

For UE5 without RT features you need at least v1909 fully updated or v 2004 fully updated and above, for RT features involving DirectX12 Ultimate, you need at least v2004 fully updated.

But yea, that's another UE5 dev not listing proper minspec on Steam Store page.. that's really tragic at this point.

Ended up fixing it by downloading fresh drivers from nvidia.

It was "directx 12 is not supported on your system. try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument." Thats the error.

It seems the same error message can trigger either from outdated Windows or Outdated GPU Drivers.
