I don't really understand the praise.
Like, the game does look and feel pretty good, but it does not run well when it decides to run at all, and there's just a lot wrong with the animations and sounds that make even Starfield look polished. I understand that this is a demo and that there is still time for most of the technical issuses to be worked out, that doesn't change the fact that it seems like the animators and voice actors just weren't payed enough to be there. I get that I'm playing as a robot, but literally every character looks and sounds like one. On top of that, I don't think this, as a game, actually feels all that accurate to the source material. Don't get me wrong, the satire is on point, but I was really taken out of it the second I started picking guns up off the floor to use them. At least put them in the left hand so the Auto 9 is always the primary, and don't even get me started on the fact that you ADS with an AK despite not having arms that can cross or EYES.

It's got a pretty wrapper, but still feels really uninspired as far as actual game play is concerned. Mechanics like "cop vision" feel just enough like Arkham Asylum to remind me that AAA games really haven't come farther than that one.

I want to acknowledge that I didn't realize this was an indie dev. That does make the lack of polish even more forgivable, but does not change my opinion of the game play whatsoever.

The demo was promising, but I think it's also very rocky, to the point where I would want to wait for the game to actually come out before declaring it actually good.
I apologize being so vague initially, but not for being a clown.

Yeah i mean if I got BTFO in my own thread, I'd blame everyone else but myself as well.

That's the plan.

I just also don't understand the praise.
Well, we don't understand creepy furries either, but nobody's judging you.

I genuinely thought that there would be at least one person actually willing to defend the game in earnest and have, you know, a discussion.
I did throw that out the window with my first reply, but I realized where I was and that I probably wasn't going to get what I was hoping for, and decided to be a clown instead. Go ahead and call it cope, but I promise I wouldn't be here if I wasn't enjoying it.

That's fairly easy to explain actually. I smoked a bowl on my day off put my opinion about a demo I thought was kind of mid in a place strangers could laugh at it.

when you stamped your feet and admitted you were unwilling to hear otherwise and no one can change your mind, I stopped taking you seriously along with all of the other people replying.

you did this to yourself.

I know.
I admitted that in my reply.

Conversely, I don't understand the hate. The game is good. I'm really looking forward to playing the rest.

I don't know what some people were expecting or what they think Robocop is, but this Robocop game is good.

I can only assume that all these people complaining are the type of people who watched movies like Robocop and Terminator and The Matrix and the only thing they got out of it was "the guns and the fighting and the explosions were really cool".

This Robocop game is pretty good so far. Especially when measured fairly as a scrappy AA project.

I feel the opposite, when it comes to gameplay. I feel that they couldn't have done anything, and I come from just finishing watching Robocop 2. I honestly can't see them doing this any other way. It's... extremely close to the source material.

I honestly don't hate it, I just didn't love it past the opening cut scene either. I did go in with the assumption that it was made with a AAA budget and that did affect my initial opinion.
Knowing that it's not AAA, and considering that it's a demo, the lack of polish is forgivable.
My biggest issue with the game is that I feel like it would be a lot more fun as a game if more focus had gone into making the combat feel like you're playing Robocop instead of a juggernaut that walks around picking up guns and ammo off the floor for the amount of praise it's gotten for feeling authentic. It kind of just feels like a generic FPS to me as it is, which isn't BAD, but I also don't think is as good as so many people seem to think it is.
All things considered, it's fine, but I would still hesitate to call it good outside of the writing. I do not understand the hype, other than nostalgia.

It's the ADS AK that got me.

You disingenuous, dense MFer. When I pointed out the smaller bugdet of the game as a genuine response to your complaint, you started farting out nonsense. Discussion, my ass.

Furry is consuming gazprom grade copium, when it should leave that stuff for the russiaboos.
Aside from Puškin, your replies have been my favorite of the ones that don't even attempt to humor me.
I'm more than happy to waste my time here if you are.

I gave you a response that you shat on. I'm not sure what you expect from me.

This game and their Terminator game are exceedingly geared towards fans of Robocop and the first two Terminator films.

The mechanics are fairly simple by modern standards; but it gets the immersion totally right. The weapons look and sound right. The enemy and world design are right.

If you are ho-hum on these franchises, you'll probably find these game ho-hum.

It's similar to how Alien Isolation made you feel like you were in the first or second Alien(s) movies.

That I can understand. I like Robocop, but I definitely don't have the nostalgia for it that someone 5 or 10 years older than me would. I think the demo was fine, but I also think there is concern to be raised about how enjoyable the full game is going to be after so many hours, even for people who enjoy the franchises.
