Depends if its using caseless ammunition, which is real but rare, but definetly needs that sideways muzzle flash from the movies though!
Everyone has been begging the devs to address this issue.
But given the infinite bullets it looks like they made it into a backup weapon instead of a primary, which is a shame.
In general I feel like one of my biggest gripes with both this and Terminator Resistance is the overabundance of ammo and resources. A bit of scarcity wouldn't hurt
I gotta be honest here but I just don't care about finding resources in games anymore. It's such a boring mechanic that has been beaten to death. Robocop just stopping and picking up bullets just seems so very off to me. Like maybe his leg is just full of tons of ammo that has a mechanism in it that reloads his mags or something and is refilled when he gets in his car. If anything add the option for those that want it. I get the feeling the game is pushing more towards being a power fantasy and I am 100% behind that decision.
I'm not referring to collectathons like in Bethesda or Ubisoft games, rather think of Metro 2033/Last Light or Resident Evil. You're unlikely to run out of ammo, but you KNOW it's limited and can't just go gun-ho everywhere.
BTW I'm not suggesting Robocop should go looking for bullets. Think of having a mag capacity that you take on missions. Ran out? Too bad, use NPC guns (plenty of them anyway)
Oh I know what you meant but even then how much is too much for the missions? The gun fights are very short as is so IDK how to balance it. It would seem strange for Robocop to have just 2 full reloads on him as an example or something like that. I think the real balance is to give us a real reason to use other weapons. Maybe we will get his gunarm later in the game so the rest of them won't even matter at least to me. It's a strange thing to try and balance IMO. Either way I think it should be an option for those that want it.
I'm a stickler for immersion, and things like this break it just a bit for me. Even if there's too much ammo, it feels better to me than infinite ammo.
I'm with you on that. Options are always better than no options. I wish more games would realize that they are games and let us change some of the "rules" to what we would like. Especially in a single player game where it doesn't matter how others are playing. Most people don't follow the rules of board games to the letter but in video games we always have to since cheats are not really a thing without outside mods.
Agreed. I always pick the classic Spiderman suit in games as well. I’m all about the authenticity.
It’s why even as a kid my action figures had to be screen accurate. Not Artic Batman for me, no sir!
The biggest issue is the hammer that isn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥ after firing, and from personal experience, you won't actually see the spent brass unless you're actively looking for them.
Part of the sound is also dependent on the velocity and size of the round. 9x19's max out at around 1100-1200 fps and the Auto 9 looks like you'd have ROUGHLY 1.5-2 inches more barrel so allow me to fudge some numbers real quick.
Let's assume that Robocop is using something similar to Winchester Ranger T (124gr +p) with an average muzzle velocity of 1180fps. That extra inch and a half would get you MAYBE 75fps higher velocities, so you'd be looking at 1255fps. For reference, the 7.62x39 has an average velocity twice that and at the same weight (used that because the AKM is in game). You're looking at 159 decibels versus 185 decibels.
Yeah I remember from the behind the scenes from movie it was a beretta pistol and I can't remember how they got such a big muzzle flash maybe extra powder or something, I can't remember either if it was supposed to be caseless in the movie which could just have fictional and made up details anyway, but maybe they just forgot to add in game ejection but every weapon pickup has ejection, but that muzzle flash from the movie was crazy really want to see in in game.
