Need help from a modder
I’ve commissioned a mod that makes the Auto-9 sound exactly like from the first two movies, and the mod is done, but there is one problem. The default fire rate of the Auto-9 in both burst mode and full auto mode is way too fast. I need a solution on how to decrease the fire rate so it has the same slower fire rate speed like in the movies. If that is done, then the mod will be movie accurate and PERFECT.

But if you increase the tempo of the sound effects, does it not make the gun sound even faster? It needs to sound slower to be movie accurate, so the other way around.

Maybe thats pat of the reason they opted for their own sound effect since you can only really do the default firing mode.

I don’t think that’s the case. Most likely, it was just too expensive for them to license the original movie sounds for the game.

And there is not just burst mode in the game. With the PCBs, you can get access to single shot mode and full auto mode as well. But the gun by default fires too fast in burst mode and full auto mode. I need to know how to decrease the fire rate via modifications in the game files, in order to make the gun have the same fire rate as in the movies.

Cut the sound. Don't alter the fire rate.

The sound is already cut. If it’s cut more, the sound will clip. Also, I don’t see that helping. It will just make the shots tighter between each other and increase the speed even more. There needs to be more space between each shot for it to sound like the movie.

use some sort of music maker and import the single shot sound then make 3 layers and mess around with them untill you get the right layers to match the fire rate without messing with the speed of the sound

I wish this would work, but I’m afraid it’s not possible because the frequency of the sound being played is tied to the fire rate.

This.

You know you can change the tempo of sounds while preserving the pitch, right? Though the proper method would be to take a single shot, and overlap it so you get a staccato report, though the overlap points run the risk of peaking if you don't attenuate the amplitude.
The thing is, the sound itself is fine. There is one instance of the sound played per shot. The issue is that the firing rate is so high that it doesn't sound like the movie when firing multiple shots. Single shots sound perfect.

Wish I could help, but I do love what you're doing!

When will the adjustment be completed? I'm looking forward to it and waiting for it every day:) I think it's possible to upload it once and try to make a few adjustments later.

Would love to have this as well! I say upload it to Nexus as is and there will be more/better feedback for how to adjust (if necessary). Without hearing, I think the solution could be adding some space/air after the shot's sample. So when it's burst/full-auto, the sample is ending with extra amount of blank time before it loops again, hence sounding like a lower fire-rate. Everyone saying that it needs to be cut or sped up would result in the exact opposite of what you're asking lol. Basically extend the sample with silence, not truncate it. If it's not lined up with the gun's animation anymore, then yeah you're going to have to adjust the mechanics of the game's fire-rate which could be more complicated depending on where those parameters are set in Unreal Engine. Good luck (and please upload as is!) :coolendo:

Me and the sound modder I commissioned are waiting for another modder who hopefully can help us with the fire rate issue once he has free time. And we don’t want to release the mod until it’s perfect. I have more sound and visual mod plans for the game in the pipeline as well, but those will not be worked on until the Auto-9 is fully completed. The goal is to make the game to a true RoboCop simulator, and make it feel a lot more authentic to the first two movies.

+1000 to the OP! WTG! Keep working on this. What an improvement this will be!

Next, Robot sounds, Arrest Mode (with beeping) and the Leg Holster sound.

I wish this game had more mods. Doom Eternal got a new game + mod. =( I would settle for just dashing when weapons are put away so I can get around faster.
