Was there something that caused the developer Teyon to make a bad Rambo game?

The devs who made Robocop rogue city made two other movie related fps games, well if you would consider that Rambo game to be an "fps" when really it was a rail shooter. I am almost finished with Robocop rogue city and its really good and I heard that Terminator game they made was good as well which shows they are able to make good games. But I remembered when the Rambo game came out and people were critiquing it for being a rail shooter similar to like house of the dead or time crisis. Except those games had a light gun and I don't know if the Rambo game did have one? The Rambo game isn't even on steam anymore, which I am guessing it must have been pretty bad. Was there a reason why they designed that Rambo game that way? Was it because they were a smaller development team so they made a simpler game? I remembered people trashing on that Rambo game hard, but this Robocop game is awesome and I don't think there are a whole lot of good Robocop games or if there are any, and if there are other good ones I am not aware of it lol.

I'm sure there's a YouTube video out there. I'm sure it came down to no budget, studio interference, short development time, etc.

From what I've heard Rambo was originally supposed to be a pretty standard FPS with sneaking and survival elements. At some point during development Reef Entertainment who was the publisher decided to slash the budget and rush development. Teyon didn't have many options besides making a slapped together rail shooter and it's a damn shame. Despite being ass it's still pretty loyal to the source material.

Well that's a damn shame, it just means we would have gotten a good Rambo game if Teyon was given good funding and time.

Bad game? It was awesome. One of the best on-rails shooters i've ever played. Sure, it lacked some budget and every enemy looked almost the same. But It was made with love and actually had good mechanics in it. I think AngryJoe did the most damage to the game.

I'm assuming the source material is Stallone's movie adaptation and not David Morrell's book Stallone used as inspiration.

Yeah, Rambo wasn't good. In fact no, it's not that it wasn't good, it was only a rail shooter. A correct rail shooter, but "only" a rail shooter. But it was their first attempt to make a game.
If you just heard that Terminator was good as well, and only heard about it. Don't wait, go play it. It is really good.
