Old man fight
I can’t beat the old man. Even on easy. I’ve missed most of the gun upgrades so my gun is not very powerful. Any tips ? I think the boss is in 3 parts. I’ve tried about 50 time and only got past the first part once.

That happened too me as well, you need to completely restart the fight you are soft locked until so.

Beat him after a few tries on hard. This is one you can't cheese like the ed209s. I maxed out the damage points, and used one of the larger omni boards. 3/4 of the game thru I stopped updating the omni board (got lazy), just focusing on using the points wisely.
I was expecting a much better challenge honestly felt it was a lot easier than the fight with the first ed209 even on hard by the time you fight him you are nearly unkillable if you play smart.

The points work in tune with the circuit boards and buff them.
I’ve managed to reach the Old Man fight on There Will Be Trouble difficulty without any skill upgrades or Auto-9 boards at all (yeah I know I’m crazy lol 😆). It was actually fun because it becomes a completely different game where you have to always use cover, and find the best angles to deal with the enemies. And some places become like puzzles where you have to plan where to be and where to go next, and when to take those precious battery charges because you can only carry 3 of them.

I discovered a way to get through the first phase of the fight, and that was to spam punches so the old man gets stunned every time, and then into a corner, and then it’s just punch away as fast as possible. Although the second phase, that does not work anymore, since he will grab you. So I have to figure out a way to get through phase two. Then there will be the final phase. Boy I hope there is a easier solution to that one, lol 😆

You can running around Van on the middle of room, its indestructible,
Yeah, I discovered that. Any good abuse to take advantage of in the third phase?
Well I mean you could check on google if wemod (used for boosting games). has something for this game. FWIW I'm on my first play through. I cheese the Ai' by finding anything in the area that'll break line of site. Then I can get a few cheap hits in. I also buffed armor to tank damage. Doesn't always work (looking at you torchhead concert), and arms race missions.

How the hell did you stay sain? oO first thing I did was buff the crap that skill that gives you mad exp for crime work, I also buffed the hell out of armor. I have a severe allergy to splateraiting in video games. LOL especially one where I'm playing the part of a cheese satirical action character from the 80s, that in one movie: shrugged off a RPG, and tank rounds, and also made ED-209 look like a bad dream.

LOL no points at all? not even in investigation?

I will recommend finishing more side quest before enter the boss fight.

I died once, because I got stuck in between a column and the old man, so he just sat there and smacked me until I died. After that, I just did what everyone else said: shoot and get out of his way when he charges, then shoot him in the back (there's also a green target area you can see from the back) while he's recovering.

When I had time, I would pick up the grenade launcher and rifle and unload it on him. Then pitch gas cans and motorcycles at him, or shoot them when he's close to them so they blow up. Mostly it was just shooting the target areas with the Auto-9. I did my best to upgrade it as I went along, so I guess it was relatively powerful by the time I reached the end.

I found that if you follow the script it's a lot easier. This was a somewhat sloppy fight arrangement because it seems you can't kill him unless you fall down several levels. I've tried fighting him to the death on the top level, then again on the level below that, and it was a massive struggle. But eventually I figured out the script and just cut ahead to that. From there you can actually do damage.
It was a mid fight like most of them in the game.
Phase 1:
Let him chase you counter-clockwise around the office. His weapon is on his left arm so having him chase you this way makes it difficult for him to shoot you around corners. Thankfully his weak spot is on the right side of his body, which makes this tactic perfect.

Phase 2:
Beeline straight for the van and let him chase you around it.

Phase 3:
There are at least 3 grenade launchers lying around the arena. If you use them all accurately, the boss shouldn't have much health left to finish off with the pistol.
