Strange effect on shiny surfaces.
So, I noticed after the initial tutorial, once you get to the police H.Q hub room that a lot reflective surfaces have this odd lighting effect.

It's really hard to describe, but it's like a wavy sort of pulse of light that seems to shimmer and move across the more highly reflective surfaces of objects, but not dull ones.

It's quite strange and once you notice it it's quite hard to ignore.

I tried turning effects off, then to ultra, I tried DLSS off, then at quality, then performance.

Nothing seemed to do anything.

Has anyone else had a similar experience and found a solution?

Does it look like disco ball/glitter?

Well....sort of.

It's like a light that moves across stuff in a sort of pulse.

I don't know how do describe it really.

It's just noticeable and strange.

Think I know what you mean and noticed it too. Haven't looked into it yet so no solution but you're not imagining things at least.

Just started playing it recently and think I changed the DLSS setting afterwards a bit..maybe I'll check there first.

I'm glad it's not just me.

I was worried it was my computer.

I tried turning effects off, the to ultra, and some other settings, but it seemed to still be there.

Did you try TSR instead of DLSS ? IT's actually what works best with the game and doesn't feel liek you have horrendous Screen Space Reflection grains on all surfaces.

I'll give that a try, thank you.

I was able to improve it a bit by switching to Nvidia upscaling, but not eliminate it.
Game seems to crash more often with upscaling on, so I either get bad graphic glitches or frequent crashes. Can't win.

ive been getting a lot of graphic glitches with frame gen on, not sure if you are having the same stuff? im almost close finishing the game, ive enjoyed it for what it is but man these graphical issues really ruined the experience for me... such a shame.
at this point i just wanna get over it and uninstall when im done.

What GPU? I have a 3080, and I have the same problem. It’s annoying when I see it, but I’m up to the point where I’ve ignored it.

Because, it was mainly on shiny reflective surfaces I thought it might easy to narrow down the issue and turn it off...but I've had limited success.

Go to C:\Users\"Username"\AppData\Local\RoboCop\Saved\Config\Windows, open Engine.ini and add this at the bottom;

[SystemSettings]
r.ReflectionMethod=2
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=0.5
r.Lumen.Reflections.Temporal=0
r.Lumen.ScreenProbeGather.Temporal.MaxFramesAccumulated=32

I had this exact problem, for me changing Global Illumination from 'medium' to 'epic' largely solved the issue. It's still somewhat noticable on floor reflections, but at least the rest of the interiors aren't pulsing any more.
