DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument.
I am on a windows surface pro, is there anything I can do?

Sure, you can do lots of things with a Surface Pro, but not play Robocop.

It depends on which exact Surface Pro you have. Most of them you will need to Stream / Cloud gaming on it. On the Surface pro 8 and 9 you can also use Egpu (external gpu's) but by that point you should have already bought a gaming PC or laptop.

On the Surface Pro 9 with Intel iris XE gpu I know you can play some games on it though without problems.

It just depends on the exact model, you will need to look it up.

Since all integrated GPUs from Intel (including latest Xe architecture) are below minspec, the only way to play this game is either to have supported hardware or play it through cloud gaming service.

a surface pro is anything, but a gaming system. i never heard of anyone using it for gaming... :conwayshrug:
sorry, but that makes absolutely no sense. it is not meant for gaming, at least not demanding unreal engine 5 games. i mean, come on.
you best chance is something like Geforce Now or such.

pretty much. also expensive.
The problem continues to exist. Devs haven't said anything despite being made aware of it. And you keep getting posts from shills for the devs that keep saying the same thing over and over: "Try updating drivers. Update your Windows. Oh, that didn't work like everyone else? Well you're SOL."

for those who can't grasp the concept of minimum system requirements.

Your best bet is to get a gaming desktop tbh for UE5.

A very capable laptop for UE5 games with an rtx 4090 mobile gpu is going to be super expensive. Its basically an rtx 4080 desktop chip then its shrunk and power limited by 50% or more and in real world benchmarks its pretty much the same performance as a regular rtx 4070 Desktop gpu. Some benches it may be between a 4070 and 4070ti in performance.

Rtx 4090 mobile laptop is anywhere from $3200-$4500 lol.

A desktop with an rtx 4070 / 4070ti can be built for much cheaper, especially if you build it yourself + gaming monitor. $1700-$2000
