Ending Question (Spoiler Alert!)
I understand there are three endings, but my only options appear to be the bad ones.

I seem to have clearly made some questionable moral choices in my playthrough, but in brief, I didn't get the option to try and save the old man, I literally just have the two bad endings.

Is this how it SHOULD be or have I someone found a weird bug!

PS - And the lack of NG+ is HIGHLY disappointing.

It's possible you made bad dialogue choices when talking to the Old Man, there's at least 4 or 5 that can affect his opinion. Maybe if you did all the "bad karma" ones, it won't give you the option to save him at the end.

You see, this is the thing that has me confused. With most of the NPC's I maybe only 'disappointed them' once. Yet, only Useless seemed to get a 'good' ending.

I still don't know WTF I did wrong with Pickles!

I see several people who didnt realize "Served the public Trust" is the positive outcome and "Upheld the Law" is negative outcome.

A complete guide on choices and consequences is just one Google search away, my dude.

afaik it doesnt have any influence on the actual ending other than if you feel like leaving him, killing him, or saving him. He dies no matter what regardless

Its what happens after that. If you let him die, some of the characters end up with a darker fate.

Ahhhhhhhhh this is maybe where I went wrong as, to be honest, in a lot of instances I saw upholding the law as a better moral choice than serving the public trust.

Yeah, if you see a kid who is painting stupid graffities and send him for that into jail that definitely would make him mad and everyone around him, however if you assign him public service to paint over graffities he even would thank you :) Simple compassion.

They still do if you save him. That is dependent on whether you helped them throughout the game or not

Yes whether the public likes you or not is the main factor in most things. The graphitti tells you where your at.

If the public doesnt like you the graphitti is red and has your eyes crossed out, if they like you, it is yellow and says Robocop the Righteous.

The conversation with the old man in the hospital bed matters.

Here's the thing though, in a lot of instances letting people off with a warning seems to be a really bad idea. Like the guy smoking at the gas station.

There are two that are especially bad if you let them off with warning. One in Old Detroit and one in the prison.

Yeah, the system is simplistic: "public trust = good, uphold the law = bad". It kinda makes sense though, considering the state of Detroit as a whole: giving poor people tickets for littering or smoking is ridiculous, when there are literally buildings packed with gang members in the same block.
