Why can't RoboCop simply rip open safes with his strength?
It's weird that the game requires him to find the combinations for the safes or that he must have a high enough level in deduction skills to figure out the combinations when he is so strong he could simply rip the doors off the safes with his strength alone.

Not to mention, you need like 5 points in engineering to rip safes open without a code, which seems tempting in the early game, but 5 points is a lot when you should probably be maxing out the skill that gives you 30% bonus experience. Then, after maybe the first third of the game, you virtually never encounter another safe, so the skill is a waste.

I agree they should have just given you the option to rip it open if you have say enough armor ability, you never really get anything useful out of them anyways.
I'm more concerned that there wasn't any safes after finishing 1\3 of the game.

I agree, while ok it might need one or maybeeeee two point to break safe....... he breaks walls on start of the game with no problems.... and we need to wait to stuff six points in engineering to break simple safes.... that is really too much and illogical....

Ranking up is a little slow. Maybe "purchase" a booster? Not sure.

You're getting this backwards, mate. It's far easier to pull down a brick wall than a safe.
Get yourself a sledgehammer and you tear through walls no problem... Now try to get the safe open with the same sledgehammer. You won't get anywhere. It's called safe for a reason.

It's far more technical and time consuming to get through a safe like that and Robocop would never get it open by punching it.

RoboCop is far stronger than a sledgehammer.

how though? there's nothing to grip to open it by force

I'm not too sure about that.
The point is.. he has no tools or leverage to open a small safe. Look how much effort it takes to open it. He can't punch his way through it. He needs a crowbar or something. His fingers are too thick. Maybe that little spike he has that he uses to connect to computers, but that is probably not strong enough (why wouldn't be)

More importantly... it's a video game.

I'm 100% sure about that. Think of how much effort it takes for a human to swing a sledgehammer onto something. Now think of how little effort it would take for RoboCop to swing a sledgehammer. It would be like nothing to him.

even with a sledgehammer it would take him hours to break through a safe

brute force is the most ineffective way to open a safe and you also gotta make sure the contents aren't destroyed in the process

Oh no doubt about that. RoboCop could simply rip it open.

again, how? there's nothing to grip

pulling on the handle won't open the safe, it would simply break the handle

well if they are true to the movies he can open/breaks a lots of things and throw sh*t at peoples with extreme ease, but a safe even for Professional need a bit of works to be open.

i don't say he couldn't do that but i think it's better to assume he never had to open up a safe like those in game and since he's the "good guy" he prefer to scan for clues than try to brute force it like a random thug ?
Kingkat54 Nov 8, 2023 @ 2:16pm
Except, it makes little sense to NEED certain "skills" to open a safe than you have acquired. Very frustrating. Again, we need some XP to start with to at least gain some info in game.
