Controller Support?

I am trying to get my controller to function better in this game since the Keyboard and Mouse seems to make my shots go into a sponge and not do any damage considering that this is the Auto-9 and should be shredding but it feels more like a nerf gun. Any suggestions on what needs to be done to configure this game to be playable? I'm also playing this on a Steam Deck but the performance is the same between this and my PC.

You can try disabling steam input on your PC and using your controller natively.

I do this for my ps5 controller for most games to get the correct button prompts ect... However I think there is something going on with the aiming in this game and I haven't sussed it out yet. How does it perform generally on the deck?
