How does "Enhanced Map" work?

So, I upgraded the deduction skill to level 6 and it says that I should see "valuable items or data" on my map. But if I go to the map, I see nothing that indicates any change: No boxes (stood right next to one), no evidence, no files (stood right next to one). Am I using this wrong, is it a bug or did I misunderstand how this skill is supposed to work?

The "Ghost House" map, for example, is entirely blank. Not a single indicator on it.

It shows things like gang stashes and OCP stashes. It won't show every piece of evidence and such things.

I'd like to think the 30% xp bonus multiplier trait is worth it because that's what I'm currently aiming for

After I got this perk I went back outside and noticed all the objectives for serve and protect 3 where on my map. So apparently it does that.

Ah cool. Come to think of it all I saw on my map currently were a few SCP boxes, but that might well be because I picked up everything else on my own before.

This just seems to be broken and quite the disappointment, I was expecting actual collectibles to be highlighted, but no, it doesn't even show the OCP boxes (I take it back, it does show them, but I swear I just wouldn't see them before, and I've upgraded this quite early), just the stashes sometimes, but simply doesn't work, because it keeps showing me the same stashes I've already looted.

Aside from the quests (which I didn't even know this was supposed to do), it never ever showed me any useful information.
