What the ♥♥♥♥ is wrong with the bomb defusal?

So we have 4 cables, green 24 volt, blue 12 volt, one red 12 volt and another red 6 volt. I pull the green 24 volt cable first and when I pull the next cable the bomb always explodes, no matter if I pull the blue or red cable.

Is this bugged or is there something I misunderstood?

Same thing happened to me too. I pulled 24 volt and then the lower one of the 12 volt and it exploded. I reloaded the checkpoint, pulled the 24 volt and then the upper one of the 12 volt and it worked.

Never touch red first! That's why it's red! Green,Blue, 12V red, 6V red. Maybe it's random, maybe it depends on the style of your behavior in the game. Everything went without any problems for me.

damn thing lies when robo says doesn't matter which 12volt first. it does.

Yes, there is a 12v and 6v red with twisted wires you have to follow.

Like I said, the bomb exploded even when I chose the blue cable after the 24 volt red cable. Seems there's a rather rare bug, reloading checkpoint didn't help. After a few tries I was too annoyed to continue and quit the game. Started the game again about an hour ago and it worked like it should this time.

when you have two of the same, or aren't sure, mark down the order as you go. Then when you blow up, try a different one that time.

i you have armor lvl 4 or higher, you can bypass the whole defuse thing and robo simply crushes the bomb near his chest without getting any damage

Check the cable color and route. Sometimes the cables are bit scrambled. You need to follow the cable.

Several days late to this topic, but yeah, this is definitely bugged in the sense that if you use the "Engineering (4)" dialog choice, Robocop clearly says that according to his database, the order of 12v cables is irrelevant. It's almost as if the devs put that line of dialog into the game, but never actually re-worked the bomb defusal logic to make it true. So although Robocop claims the order doesn't matter, in reality it does. Very frustrating oversight, especially since failing results in you have to go all the way through the breaching sequence and dialog all over again.
