RoboCop: Rogue City

RoboCop: Rogue City

The bad/mediocre reviews on metacritic are everything that is wrong with today's games
There is absolutely no sane reason to give this game less than an 8/10, even if you haven't seen the movies. This game is like the old Max Payne games on steroids; so much love and detail in every aspect and cool mechanics. I'm very, very afraid that the dopamine addicted zoomers and paid off reviewers will discourage the devs to continue making actual good games.

Furthermore, this game looks ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing. I have no idea what's wrong with some people's eyes but besides the stiff face animations there is so much detail and the lights and shadows paint an amazing atmosphere. They even obviously tried to improve on the faces after the feedback they got about the demo, but yes, there's probalby more work to do.

I even saw reviews complaining about the voice acting, like, lmao really? Robocop is literally voiced by the actor and all the other voices are spot on. The Torch Heads are supposed to sound over the top and campy.

Not sure where I'm going with this but that's all. Oh, but HDR support would be nice.

I think 7/10 is fair at the price, it's a great love letter for the fans but it would have been so much better as a true open world sandbox game that allowed you to drive and take out thugs on the streets or in a building, kinda like cyber punk.
Literally my only negative so far is that the Day One patch ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the upscalers, so now all of them have that horrible artifacting/noise, not just DLSS.

If they tighten that up, I'll be 100% pleased.

No, not at all. We have more than enough open-world sandbox games, in fact the market is clearly oversaturated with them. Deus Ex structure is perfect for it, only Rockstar/CD Project Red could do open world version that wouldn't feel like a massive waste of time, all other big companies would do Far Cry reskin with towers and blockposts which sounds like abomination that should never happen.
The only reviews worth reading are those of people who have an interest in playing the game excluding the product shills which many company's hire to flame people out of places part and parcel of the marketing teams not so much with this game.

I was getting this game from when I first seen it advertised, all the little Nostalgia flakes in it add to the fun.

When Murph drives out of the precinct iconic scrape and sparks.
The Cut scene vehicle exit that turn and camera Robo does.

The Voice Acting is not the issue, it's the mixing and missing ambience, There's also some sound inconsistency which you'd expect something to sound like if you were in that area etc, Light draw distance on Epic is not so great and Texture Pop in during cut scenes is strange.

When Reed is standing near the whiteboard things and the camera is adjusted the sticky tape disappears and other items appear.

When walking through some places on all maps you will get a wandering vert out of no where in a specific spot, This happened on Terminator Resistance also in some parts of maps. Some part of a prop model will spaz out and stretch along a plane it's like the rest of the object remains static and that Vert is the only part taking physical action.

Some of the Anim is botched during some cut scenes characters will be facing a random direction away from Murph etc.

Fire Extinguishers placement rotation is broken in places.

Other items are duplicated ontop of each other, 2 cars parked ontop of each other etc Chair on Chair..

Some odd things

Displaced voices to the NPC model

Displaced Sounds to the location.

Clipping of weapon fire on transparency etc.

I'm really enjoying the game. With my limited play, I would rate it 8 or 9 out of 10. Satire is on full force and I love it. Feels like the movie in some ways. Clomp clomp clomp pistol go brrr
I tried the demo when it was available and was sold ... completely! Reviews don't really factor into my impression or opinion of a game. I don't trust reviews any more especially after Rotten Tomatoes debacle, it taught me that review sites, any review sites, cannot be trusted.

It was the rather lengthy demo which only served to solidify my opinion that this was the game for me. The feel and mechanics of the game just feel so old skool, and I'm an old skool dude.
90+% positive steam reviews is the only metric that matters
Who takes Metacretin seriously?

The game is 92% on Steam Aggregate which is a good sign. The best way to research the game is to start with Steam Aggregate and then read most helpful positive and negative reviews.

Indeed it feels like old Max Payne 1 but in the good way.
We need more AA games like this.

Nowadays AAA games are woke and boring.

Nowadays AAA games are woke and boring.
With their budgets they, at least, could make fun boss battles.
These score sights and game 'jernos' have been a joke for over 20 years probably more,
There only there to sell you junk and push their own egos/ideology on you.
Thay are shills who overcompensate throw shallow vertu-signalling.
Don't waste your time with them they are irrelevant and obsolete.

Nothing makes me feel better than to see Steam Reviews shine, compared to journalists average, or even bellow average scores.

It's even more satisfying than seeing NFL or FIFA games being the opposite.

People still enjoy games made with love, even if they are not 100% and lacking in some areas. There is hope. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over <3

Iim 100% getting this one.
