Awesome Game, but too short.
Welp, I've just finished RoboCop: Rogue City.

My overall opinion is that it's a GREAT game, but FAR too short!!!

- Graphics are amazing with the Unreal 5 engine.
- RoboCop looks AWESOME!!
- Many of the original actor's faces were used, making the connection to the original movies EXCELLENT!!
- I enjoyed the "stiff" combat.
- Also liked the experience system for upgrading Robo over time.
- Auto-9 upgrades were pretty cool too.
- The story was pretty good too, and definitely tells a tale of that RoboCop 3 probably should have been.

Some of the things I didn't enjoy?

- GAME IS TOO SHORT!! I think most people will beat the game in a few days.
- The recycling of the same city area is a BAD game mechanic, and makes the game feel much too small. It would have been great to have an open map that is 10X larger, but that probably wasn't feasible for the developer. This leads to the "city" being an area that's only about the size of two city blocks, while we do go outside that area for certain missions, we always come back to the "city" at different times per day or night, each time changing many elements of the area. But it wasn't enough to satisfy me.
- The mini-game for the Auto-9 where you combine upgrades is confusing and makes little logical sense. This needs to be more thoroughly explained to players because I could make no sense of it, and the outcome always seemed random.
- The Save Game feature (or lack thereof) really stinks. There is no auto save, and no save feature, meaning that you rely solely on checkpoints as the save point. If you complete a quest, the game will save, so that's a good time to stop if you need. But otherwise this feature needs to be added.

In short, this is a great game that I will definitely recommend. But the cheaper version though. The Extra $10 is mostly cosmetic items that are fairly pointless. I do wish the map had been a LOT larger and that we had more missions to accomplish, AND I wish we actually got the opportunity to drive around the city. Maybe not the ENTIRE city of Detroit, but at least a major area. In that regard, the lack of a concentric map makes the game feel somewhat disjointed and small. But with all that said, I REALLY enjoyed the game and will probably play it through a few more times, maybe siding more with the different mayoral candidates to see if that changes the story any.

Let's hope we get some DLC's to add more content to this game. I feel the base for a larger game is here, and it just needs to be watered and expanded on!

I agree with your words, a few story dlc would be nice in the future. Regarding the Alex Murphy edition, yes totally superflous, exept the damaged Robo Armor. This is nice for to switch between the standard and these one, so RoboCop is correctly shown after shootouts in the cutscenes.

how long did it take to finish the story?
afaik it has a small open world or as you said 2 regions of Detroit City.
how linear the game is, can you go to the 2nd area freely or do you need to finish 1st to enter 2nd?

The game seems to constantly be slowing you down as well.
Landmines, Snipers, Loading zones between Doors, Murphy is reaaaaaallly slow even when sprinting.

Haven't played this yet but my thoughts on too short vs. too long is that I'd rather have a quality but short experience than a a long bloated game that is full of slop masquerading as content.

To give an example of this: I'd rather have another Mass Effect than Starfield.
