I didn't see anywhere to reset points but maybe I missed something. They need to just patch this it's silly that you need a specific level or do what this guy in the video did to complete stuff like this.

Looks like whatever they did to fix the bug which was not giving people an option at all, made it also accidentally remove the indicator that it's a skill-based prompt.
It may not be a skill-based prompt either, they may have originally planned it to be, then changed their mind, would explain why it was bugged if they changed plans on the check a few times and changed it every time. The more you mess with it the more likely to break it.
