Got this on the demo. So I couldn't play it.

This game is supposed to be on GeForce Now at some point. Don't know when though. It will be the only way I can play the game.

I second this. based on the error message my guess is that the thread opener doesn't own a graphics card that supports DirectX 12, in this case, there might be no solution other than cloud gaming as 4FromHell suggested.

FYI: Minimum requirements are a GTX 1650 Steam says.

Thanks for the help guys, but i refunded the game. The PC with the posted specs is lagging nonstop (both with the steam and GeForce Now version) and it would be a perverse joke to try it on my main PC with a GTX 1050TI.

Guess i'll have to get a PS5 and play it on there...

now just because i built a gaming PC doesnt mean im an expert. it also doesnt mean that i should not have a gaming PC because i'm not a total NERD that never leaves the house...
Bottom line is that i bought a game and its not working. out of the box, ANY game i buy should start and function, or there is something wrong with that game....
Solutions are all that is needed.

for this day there is no answer how to fix that. a lot of ppl have this error myself included. smb said that he reinstalled directx from unofficial site and somehow fixed it. didnt try that myself

Laptop means the iGPU is the main graphics processing unit unless the laptop model has a MUX chip.
Meaning the game is likely detecting the iGPU and not the dGPU.
Hence my questions.

So you really didn't read anything at all in these topics.

Same issue here, been playing other games fine, running on windows 11 with an RTX 3090. Sad, cannot play this game with my main PC. Drivers were updated and it did not solve the issue
