That said, critics did pan the studios prior game (Terminator Resistance) which received a largely favourable reception from the actual players.
I'd not put much stock in what critics say either way tbh.
Except that Mankind Divided had open world and it still flopped because some people were pissed because a singleplayer game had microtransactions.
Oh, and Deus Ex MD had multiple way of resolving tasks and you could also see your character while playing during certain situations.
I feel a sandbox game that allows for far more replay value would have been preferred, being able to travel in your vehicle and maybe have shootouts in it would have been nice.
I'd say 7/10 is fair considering some of the roughness in performance and visuals.
Mods could also add a lot of flavor in the game as well.
But then...
- Good looking graphics - Check
- Atmosphere - Check
- Story - hard to say see next
- Game BREAKING BUG - Check - see mission when you have to meet with Old Man... because of OCP guard stuck in the floor you can not move on with the quest.
Gameplay - good enough, though Robos movement is not the best... covers stop working when you meet ED.
Shooting mechanics is ok though specific enemies who do not have any armour feel like bullet sponges.
Story is kind of interesting and induces the curiosity.
Everything actually got to a dump when you meet your first boss fight... something is always glitching. Your opponent is moving somehow faster than you.. and it is a bullet sponge as well as explosives sponge. Time slowing ability works strange... it slows yours actions, including reloading and aiming as well as your enemies... I would estimate it would slow down your enemy actions but not yours (yours are already slow enough - I mean speed of movement).
Next outrageous bomb defuse puzzle - where the effing check point is behind the door, and you have to pass this crap over and over if you did not understood the twisted logic of the developers at first - who thought that it was fun to make the checkpoint there?
Evaluation after each mission with questionable parameters that you do not know in front of the mission...
Honestly - game for this price should provide better and more polished gameplay...
To be honest - I do not recommend this game for this price buy it for a dollar. It is very very average...
