Feedback: Snipers on Street Vulture's Turf
Spoilers for a early mission:
The segment where you have to navigate the mill and it's filled with snipers who can take you down in 2-3 hits and they take multiple hits to kill without being staggered is a big bummer in an otherwise entertaining adventure. It's just not fun and feels unfairly difficult. The scoped AR you're given right before that segment is not helpful in the slightest.

Any chance a future patch can either nerf the snipers or at least give you a weapon that helps you fight back against them?

I've only done the level once so far, and yeah, the hits are pretty rough. But I just used the train cars as cover, side-stepping out, fire 2-3 shots, side-step back in before they get a shot off. Took less than 30 seconds for each sniper.

Yeah, I finally got to the point where I just hugged the walls and went slowly, popping out to kill them. It's doable but it's just not very fun nor does it feel very robocoppy, I'd argue.

I just used Briggs' rifle that I found somewhere, which has a scope and kills the snipers in one hit. The section was pretty easy with that one.

You can get a sniper rifle before they show up if you do the side mission to destroy the drugs. I stupidly dropped it for the Aug though.

I wasn't really a fan of that part either, and I have only beat the next level (Bank Heist) so far. It didn't have any there, so maybe that's the only level with snipers.

As others stated, I did see the sniper rifle, but didn't save it. Didn't expect 6 or so snipers later.

I did the same. I assumed the aug being there meant that it would be very useful for the next segment. It uh, did not turn out that way for me lol.

It's difficult but if you take the lower path with the water to cut across I think it's easier to get through that section because you can bypass 2-3 snipers.

Then the ones you do approach on that side are much closer to shoot at from that direction too. But there are mines in the water to deal with if you didn't clear them before.

It has a scope and kills the snipers in one hit. I got through the section without any problems, using the "AUG".
The sniper rifle would probably have made hitting the ones which were very far away slightly easier, but it worked very smooth with Briggs' gun too.

I agree that they are unbalanced.

You just need to know how to deal with them.

remember the following things.

1) There is at least 1 sniper rifle in the level, get it and save it for the snipers. ( much easier to do if you actually know the snipers are coming of course )

2 ) They always have a very clear red laser ( so at least you always know when they are a problem and where they are ).

3) They have to aim at you for a while before they shoot and this timer resets if you break their line of sight.

4) If you run at a 90 degree angle to them they will miss. ( I don't know how small the angle can get before they hit )

5) If you health drops bellow 20% and auto regenerates after a while ( Thanks to this if you have cover snipers alone are easy but time consuming to deal with )

With that in mind consider the following strategies.

6)
If other enemies are attacking you move to a position where the snipers cant see you can deal with the other enemies as, due to their ability to move they are the greater threat.

2)
If other enemies are not around pop in and out of cover until you manage to kill the sniper - take full advantage of the health recharge that happens at <20% health.

3)
If getting hit by snipers or other enemies at the same time, or you have multiple snipers shooting you move to a place where the snipers cannot hit you - preferably by running at a 90% angle to the snipers.

4) Above all else move slowly and pick of ALL snipers one by one and ALL other enemies when they appear and you are safe from snipers so that you create safe locations as you go. It is absolutely essential that you do not find yourself being attacked by snipers and regular enemies at the same time and without any safe place you can go.

I found the sniper rifle
but at the moment did not know that snipers would be introduced 5 mins later so used all the ammo on regular enemies.

Why do you want a nerf? It's not an easy test, but it didn't cause me any problems. The game should not be "Press X to win".

If you have autogeneration you can take a shot or two while killing the guy, hide to regenerate and take another guy. Slow and frustrating but ok I guess.

I think the Aug is a bit of a trap. I think you really want to be saving a machinegun as your second weapon to quickly take down the upcoming boss.

The Auto-9 works very well against the snipers. Keep in mind is that they do appear on your radar and you can use that to help line up your shots horizontally. Then just adjust your vertical aim to the red glow either at the center or just below it. You'll be able to see the hit feedback as you fire. Since the snipers have a fixed firing delay, you can strafe out and back to reliably avoid being hit.

If you're having trouble, this portion of a recent playthrough shows that in action. There are also scoopers above a couple of them, so you can shoot those to instantly nuke those snipers without issue.

There's a handy claw bucket filled with random bits of metal you can shoot to take out the first two snipers. Then it's a simple matter of line up the aim, move side to side, in and out of cover, you've got two seconds to fire at the sniper. After a couple of shots he's gone. I do it with the Auto-9 and never bother with any other weapon. Just don't linger in their sights...
