At what point does the game 'Save'

I have no idea where and when the game saves. I did a dialogue section and thought it would save after that, because i now had control of my character, this was after i talked to the Dr. Quit to main then carried on to see if it would save where i left, it did not. I have to watch and do all the chat options again.

Game UI needs some prompts when the game 'Saves'
And would be nice to have a manual save system which would be very helpful as well please

I can't figure it out either, you'd think it would save whenever you picked up something or progressed thru dialogue or something but had to replay many parts. Now I just try not to quit until I see the load screen update to a very recent time. Irritating as I tend to play is small chunks of time.

I dont mind autosaves if done correctly but I expect it to save more often than this!

Yeah the lack of manual save is annoying. The best thing you can do for now is check when was the last save by checking the "load" section. If it was a minute ago, I can stop playing, if it was 40 min ago, well...

you can check to see the last time it saved by pressing ESC and clicking load. Not sure if there is any indicator of when it dose a auto save.

whenever you enter a new area via a loading screen or complete a mission/side mission it will save.

i shall do this next time
but game really does need a manual save system
and clear ui prompts to when the game 'has' been saved for sure.

A small green icon appears in the top right when it saves, but it does so very quickly. I've spotted it a few times and when I go to the load page, the timestamp checks out.

It's really frustrating exploring the open area levels for 30+ minutes, collecting evidence and what not, then you have to stop playing only to notice your game hasn't saved in a long time and you have to then play more to trigger a checkpoint autosave.

Console controllers don't have an F5 key

There should be manual save in a game with hub section like this.

I also agree that a manual save should be added. At minimum, a save on exit should be added so we aren't constantly wondering about our progress being lost.

It has prompts not their fault you don't read or play/watch the demo they had out.

so what do is just press pause and see when the last autosave happened and then look at my phone irl and match the times before closing the game.
