OCP Chest does not have anything in it?

Am i missing something? or is there supposed to be nothing in this chest to get?
there are motherboards in there but i cannot interact with it beyond opening it right after rescuing pickles.

you get upgrade chips. they are automatically added to your inventory and they tell you via tiny text on the left of the screen. i missed it my first time as well.

One I found is for Health, but if you are full already are full then you get nothing.

You get upgrade %'s though not entirely sure what they do. The one OCP chest I found in the garage said 12% 14% upgrade chips.

It's for gun upgrades. there are chests in the first level, but you don't get the gun upgrades until after that. they add the chips for gun upgrades.

This is confusing, and not just for me apparently. I opened two crates so far, I think so, and nothing happened. I checked my inventory and I don't have any chips or anything.
