Well, considering it takes place before Robocop 3 (I think...Lewis is alive and well), it will be it's own thing and ignores Robocop 3 since it has not happened yet.

The game's story and themes are very obviously influenced by RoboCop 3 (Serve the Public Trust vs Uphold the Law), and the game's plot is about establishing the events of RoboCop 3 and explaining certain plot points in that film such as what happened to the Old Man and how/why Murphy was reprogrammed with Directives 1-4.

So no, they're not going to retcon RoboCop 3.

Robocop 3 isn't that bad, lore-wise, it's just too kiddified.

I'm interested if they will drop some hints for Kanemitsu in this game, maybe proto-Otomo will show up.
Robocop 3? What's that? There's only 2 RoboCop movies:lunar2019piginablanket:.

You can consider this a retcon of Robocop 3 if you like. It takes place after Robocop 2, so it might as well be your Robocop 3.

The Japanese Zaibatsu Kanemitsu Corporation hostile takeover of OCP and Detroit in RoboCop 3 feeds well into the Cyberpunk nature of the film series, didn't like that years ago as a kid, but it's actually a brilliant story thread in the last few decades.

They probably should have had a proper sendoff for the Old Man who disappears seemingly quite fast after the 'OCP Spin Team' deals with the events of RoboCop 2. OCP Tower external looking completely different, and the lack of the Old Detroit skyline from the first film didn't help things either.

They actually do a good job keeping the city atmosphere feeling like it did in the original film. However, that PG-13 rating probably wasn't a good idea, as a result Robo, Otomo, Splatterpunks, criminals, and others can't be at their best.

RoboCop 3 also has Basil Poledouris epic RoboCop soundtrack, and some really good themes, like 'The Resistance'.

Anyways, the game takes place before Kanemitsu sets its sights on Detroit, which means we're going to probably see in the game more reasons as to why Delta City construction still hasn't started, and OCP in decline following the events of RoboCop 2.

I like RoboCop 2, c'mon man, probably as much as the original. I respect folks who liked 3rd, although i find it garbage. To each their own.

WRONG! True fans know the only one movie is RoboCop remake from 2014.

Oh don't worry, the Old Man is fairly big in the Robocop movies, so he'll definitely get a proper sendoff in this game.

There's spoilerinos that are present on the game folder, i couldn't resist looking. Anyway, quite an oversight they were present.
He definitely will, the videos indicate he will become some sort of "Neo Cain". And yeah, you gonna put him down.

I know, I saw the specific files in question and honestly, I'm looking forward to it even more now.

i probably am in the minority that prefers 3 over the stupid second movie. yes 3 isnt a gore fest like the first one. but it has a ton of good ideas and if you know how the making of this movie was sabotaged by the death of Orion pictures and all that revolved around that, i think you'd look at the movie with another vision. but alas, people prefer the stupidly written robo-cain i guess...

The problem with 3 is that it just deviates even further from Robocop 1. Yeah Robocop 2 wasn't a weird satire like the first film was, but it at least tried, the third film had a few decent themes and moments, but not as much as 1 or 2, though imo 2 was only moderately better than 3.

Well, you ain't gonna like this game, because there's lots of stuff of the second movie. As for me, probably will enjoy it, since i find the second movie pretty good, almost on par with the first (Verhoeven fanboys get mad) and the 3rd a piece of ♥♥♥♥♥ :lunar2019grinningpig: .
