That's a shame, it would have been cool to be able to drive/walk around between the main quest missions with random encounters occuring like on Red Dead Redemption and other similar games. The game does look promising without it though!

"semi-open" would be the term I'd use. You seem to get chunks of city to explore at a time. Neighborhoods. A couple of blocks.

To be honest, that's probably for the best, though. Robo is such a slow plodding character that having him slowly thud thud thud around an entire open world city could become a bit of a burden in gameplay terms.

Robocop 3 back on the Amiga/ST allowed you to drive around the city which was really cool. I haven't reached any driving parts in the demo but I suspect driving is not a thing in this game.

It's an open zone game. Just like Sonic Frontiers, except Robocop is even faster than Sonic.

You have a car but it drives you automatically to places. Its a shame cause would be cool to drive around but I can see why they didnt do it.
