Auto-9 infinite ammo
Should this be toned down?
Like having 500 rounds or something, or you can pick up 9mm to replenish it, I think having infinite ammo is a bit casual.

It's his signature weapon, so I think the devs wanted to give players the option to "fully roleplay" Robocop at any time.
Combined with the fact that enemies drop plenty of ammo anyways leads me to believe that ammo management was never supposed to be a major concern with this game by design, and I think that's fine.

Now, why a 3 round burst pistol has a magazine size that is not divisible by 3, or how it can even fit 50 bullets in there is what I'm more concerned about. It looks like we're able to upgrade the Auto-9 at some point, and the version that we have in the demo is one with a lot of upgrades already on it.

Probably full auto mode, more magazine capacity, explosive and incendiary rounds, good stuff.

But infinite is a wee bit too much.

I hate it too. the game should have limited ammo, make players to pick up ammo from enemies, and upgrade the ammo you can carry.

Auto-9 is too powerful, it make the guns drop from enemies useless, not worth to pick up.

+1 to finite ammo, at least as an option.

Since so many enemies are using 9mm weapons, it would make sense to include this mechanic.

It always kind of had infinite ammo in the movies. Not once do you ever see robocop run out of ammo on his auto 9. ALSO, this infinite ammo is balanced by the necessity to use other weapons. I don't know if you noticed but there's a lot of weapons you can pick up. Many of them do much more damage than the auto 9 but have limited ammo. This couples with the fact that some enemies will be too tough to kill with the auto 9. A good example of what I think you can expect to see in the final game are the armored street punks with armor piercing m60s. I would imagine that this will become much more pronounced as you play through the game.

Maybe they got little mini robots making caseless bullets for Robo in his thighs.

Anyway, just a pet peeve, I just want extreme to be more extreme ya know? Can't wait for explosive rounds, ho boi.

Yeah people ruined mass effect with that "pet peeve" too. Originaly the weapons worked by shaving off flecks of metal that then were accelerated to the speed of light by what they called mass effect fields. There were no ammo clips needed. Just a short over heat cool down time. People flipped out so HARD about it that after mass effect one, they changed everything about the guns to make them more like conventional weapons. Which really gutted the originality the producers were trying to show.

Also I could be wrong but I don't remember ever seeing robocops gun throwing out casings...

Factoid, the auto 9 is just a berretta 93r with an extended barrel and burst fire modification. And they extended the trigger guard to fit that big fat robocop finger in there lol. Lot of people don't realize that filming guns are real guns. Even the pulse rifle from aliens are real guns that are capable of firing real ammunition. The reason why is because recoil and muzzle flash are hard to fake.

The devs already Stated that the pistol will always have infinite ammo by design because it's his signature weapon, any other weapons you pick up off the floor or get issued will be limited ammo.

I can see wanting limited ammo for it, it makes sense but other games have done this allowing your base weapon to be basically never run out and considering how much ammo and weapons are lying around and frankly very few types at that that we have seen it kinda doesn't matter.

in a game where your mobility is so limited, it makes sense to have unlimited base ammo. you need to ensure the player is never helpless and with the way the game is structured having a reliable backup option is just good game design. Funny I never seen anyone complain about infinite ammo for the doom pistol.

didn't get that far. didn't want to spoil the main game, so i played the demo just long enough to determine if it was a purchase or not. mechanics feel sound.

I still think unlimited ammo is a little lazy choice for whatever they were intended for. Auto 9 is already powerful to deal with any kind of situations all the time (at least in the demo) so I picked up other weapons on purpose for variations.
I wish there was a prep stage , like you rather visit your locker and put limited points or something like that to gear up how amount of like magazines, ammo types, healing batteries, weapons of your choice, etc, before we go into actions.
