It's rubbish, there's no other way to say it :_(
I'm a big movie and game fan and coming from both of those backgrounds I have to say I'm just as disappointed here as I was with "Terminator Resitance".

I think the idea of making games based on old cult films is absolutely brilliant. But unfortunately this is always done by studios that have no idea about games. This shooter looks and feels like a game from 10 years ago, even though it uses today's technology.

(I don't even want to talk about the performance, which was supposedly unpredictable.)

You don't see his body when you look down, nor do you feel this heavy robot body when you walk. It just feels like a normal body being pulled back by bungee cords. The opponents just run stupidly in front of you, one after the other. The investigation consists of picking up items. Then there's this artificially forced dream sequence,

I really have to force myself to play through the first level. Anyone who allows themselves to be blinded by nostalgia and throws 50 out of the window has only themselves to blame. I'm not surprised that this game is published by Nacon. They specialized in the nostalgia hype and delivered extremely poor results like Chaosbane and then swallowed up the development studio .

I can only strongly advise against buying this game. In my personal opinion, anyone who does that is investing in bad gaming in the future :-/

Are you sure you're a fan of the movies? Because if so, you SHOULD remember how in most action scenes of RoboCop murdering goons, they either all stand still firing their machine guns or uzis or just run back and fourth. At no time do any of them try to run away, get a more powerful gun or act "intelligently".

The demo improves on the movies by making the enemies get behind cover, flank and lob grenades. Also, some enemies are armored and later in the game, some use a mounted machine gun to try and kill you.

As for your other criticisms, it is a demo. The full game isn't going to release tomorrow, so I'm sure the feedback will lead to an improved game. They've already acknowledged the performance issues of the demo and put out a statement about it. Do yourself a favor and read the pinned comment at the top.
Being a fan of the movies doesn't automatically mean loving everything about them. Making a good movie game doesn't mean implementing everything 1:1. That's exactly what I mean, most people have no idea how to make a good game. This game could be both, the film and a good game. As it appears in the demo, it's a bad game that makes the film look bad. The opponents, whether in cover or not, still stand there like in a shooting gallery and when they leave cover they run straight towards you. But I think the enemies at least work better than in Starfield ha ha ha xD

They're not implementing everything 1:1. That's why they've decided to allow RoboCop to sprint. And if you look at the skills that can be unlocked, he'll have the ability to slow down time (movies didn't have that) and other enhanced abilities.

Goons will do what goons do. If they were smart, they wouldn't be goons. Every shooter fps has this game mechanic. I played it on easy and also noted the "shooting gallery" enemies, but I'm sure if you manned up and played it on the hardest difficulty, you might find more of a challenge.
The moment the first shootout began, from the way the thugs moved, to the way the tracking system followed their movements, I felt like I was robocop. I am glad they don't have the simulated movement, as it would likely make me motion sick though haha.
omg, I could never image a "big movie and game fan" could consider robocop and terminator movies are "old cult movies".
Why I will play before 2 hours are up if by then I'm not seeing the value I'll just refund it.

did have it preordered on xbox but they wont support it like they refused to support thje xbox version of terminator not that I ever baught it but they did support pc and sony so refunded that and bought a new computer will get it by sunday and can try the game out on a much more powerful laptop than the one I am using right now which barely works.

This. I really think OP doesnt understand what this studio has been doing and why they are a gem that needs to be held up.

They focus so heavily on the little details, the immersion and the aesthetics of what made both Robocop and Terminator memorable. I play resistance and the sound alone transports me back, same with this game though i think it still needs a healthy amount of work.

The story here is interesting the side plots actually well thought out. This isn't a throw away clickbait title, actual effort was put into this game and people like the OP don't appreciate the efforts made vs budget obtained.

Is it ugly? yes. Is the voice acting kind of ♥♥♥♥? yes. But the comments on the lack of weight and the feel are completely misguided.

With the game coming out so soon i doubt alot of changes will make their way to the final product but criticisms here will certainly make it out to the first patches that come along.
no its a good game DEV,s just need time to up-date robocop,s OS in his head space and we good to go.............

Murder and killing in self-defense are 2 different things.

With that being said, I grew up with the Classic movies & games. And after watching the gameplay video, it looks fine. My only complaint is the excessive blood & gore! I doubt it can be turned off... if anyone knows!?
Tragic isn't it?
I'm robocop fan and I was looking forward this one
I'm a huge fan of the movies and I liked the demo. It accomplishes the main goal: to make you feel like Robocop, walking into a den of criminals and laying waste to them. It's rough around the edges, hopefully they sort out the performance issues (I didn't really have much other than frame drops), but it's better than what the trailer showed.
Well, when fanboys blinded by nostalgia come against you, there's nothing you can do about it. I'm not angry or anything, I expected this reaction like always. I'll tell you honestly: I hope for all of us that the game will be good when it releases. But for me it's already a big step backwards. But if some Robocop fans are happy, or at least think they are, then I think it's a good thing. I won't try to argue against it any longer. I don't feel like going around in circles and repeating things forever. I said what I had to say and now say bb and good luck and have fun with the game ;-)
Calm down everyone, I think you are all right, I'm a huge fan too, in the demo I liked the feeling and the atmosphere, but it is clear that the technical level of this demo is abyssal. If the game release ressemble anything like this, this will be a disaster especially for the develloper and nacon. So fix the game before realease, even if it means delay it. We all want to enjoy the game but the stuttering will kill the game.

You do realize that the original Robocop movie and 2nd one were known for over-the-top graphic violence and gore. Heck, the 1987 movie had to be re-cut numerous times just to appease the MPAA, otherwise it would have received an "x" rating which would have had significant impacts on its earning potential.

Did you know that if you finish a firefight holding the Auto-9 he does the thing? If you've seen the movies you know exactly what I'm talking about.
I had to pause the game and squee for a moment when I saw that.
