The damage of the iconic Auto-9
It's a bad joke. Sometimes the goons go down after a few hits, like it should be, but there were many enemies eating almost a full magazine before going down. And I'm not even talking about the guys with bulletproof helmets/masks.

Everything else has been said in other threads. Currently terrible performance, stuttering and so on.

Almost forgot, after I did the small side quest at the counter I couldn't move anymore.

considering the auto-9 is a 9mm ... heavily modified Beretta M92.. damage seems on point to me.

Similarly, some of the goons took several shots from the AK to down but only needed one click from the not-UZI. Maybe there's some extra factors in the maths, related to the skill tree?

You've seen the 1987 movie? Yes, the prop is a modified Beretta but in-universe it's a powerful gun that rips huge holes into people. And even if were just a burst firing 9mm gun, no human being takes 30 hits to the chest and still acts like I just farted in its direction.

the auto-9 was never anything more than a 9mm. In prime directives they had it fire special ammo but it was still a 9mm round.

and yes i get it nobody usually survives being pumped with a dozen or so rounds even if they are 9mm

Hey, there are bad guys with iron helmets, those are the ones who withstand a lot of fire (and the helmet do a funny sound when pops out)

At least the damage seems to be inconsistent sometimes.

Just click their heads and every enemy apart from the masked guys dies in one hit regardless of what weapon you use even on hardest difficulty.

If that's supposed to be armored enemies than maybe they should make that clear, because hitting them anywhere besides the head produces large blood decals instead of sparks or nothing. Shooting armor shouldn't show blood decals.

I think the gun is intentionally this weak, so it can be upgraded throughtout the game.
RangerXT Oct 9, 2023 @ 12:24pm
yeah I think they want you to use other guns you pick up in the early stages and use points to upgrade the gun as you go through the game, which from a gameplay perspective makes total sense
skill issues

It looks like the full game will have a weapon upgrade system. It will probably work similarly to Terminator Resistance so you will be able to change its capabilities and likely damage. Plus, each attack skip point adds 5% increased damage. That will build up well later. That said, it does feel like it could do a bit more. 3 rounds to the chest should be fatal.

You will hear the sound of it i hitting metal and clinking - also if I remember correctly the hit effect is different.

Also, everyone seems to be ignoring the fact, dps/damage and the Auto-9 are part of a progression system to upgrade.

On normal. The Auto-9 is already dismembering limbs and causes head explosions. Y'all are ridiculous.
